<div>Hi, my name is Sylvia Davis, and I am starting this fundraiser on behalf of my 20-year-old daughter. Her name is <strong>Makayla Katriece Baker</strong>. She went out with some people she called her friends and never made it back. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School with an Advanced Diploma. She then started college at J. Sargeant Reynolds to become a police officer. She then had to drop out for her second spinal fusion, but that didn’t stop her. Less than 3 months later, she was working at Lowe’s. Then she went to Cell Tech, and from there, she continued her career in nursing.

<div><strong>On May 5th, 2024, I got the worst call a mother could get. Makayla's location was pinging off the highway where she was left to die.</strong> My God, My God. The state police called, then he put the doctor on, which the doctor said my baby was very ill. I needed to get there now. Lord, my heart fell. I was at a loss for words. I got there, and they said she died on us for about 7 to 20 minutes, so the next couple of hours were crucial. She had to wake up out of that coma. Oh my God, did I begin to pray and pull on Jesus . Three days later, they said she was brain dead and to call the family. I said the devil is a liar; my baby is going to live and NOT DIE. The doctor said she would never walk again, she would never talk again. The doctor also said she would be on a ventilator and feeding tube for life. BUT GOD DID NOT AGREE WITH THOSE THINGS . Makayla can eat whole foods. Makayla is still hospitalized 9 months later. Makayla is very much alive and a very sweet person, never been in any trouble, and I am not angry at who left her. I am glad she is still here because Makayla is my child, and I love her dearly. I am out of work due to medical reasons; I got injured at work. So, <strong>I am asking for support and any help you are willing to give us. We greatly appreciate it.</strong>

<div><strong>Makayla will be home soon, and she needs a lot of things. She is now paralyzed.</strong> I know God is still working on her because the doctors said she wouldn’t make it, and 9 months later, she is still here and very much alive. This is hard writing this because I lost my oldest daughter at age 26. I know some will judge and some may not, but as a single mother, Makayla and her family need all the help and support she can get. I wasn’t going to make this, but I was advised to by my psychiatrist today, knowing I lost my oldest daughter in 2020 in a car accident. She left me with 2 beautiful kids, an 8-year-old son and a 1-year-old daughter, who are now 13 and 6. Makayla, myself, and Makayla's siblings will be grateful for anything you can give. If you can’t, it’s okay; prayers are better than money any day because God will supply all her needs. I will give you updates. I have good days and sad days, but overall, I am grateful she is still here, and she has made progress. She can mouth words I can understand, and that’s all that’s important, and her health. Honestly, I live in low-income projects where they have drive-bys, so we are looking for a house somewhere she can feel safe and be happy. She spent her 20th birthday on a ventilator, not knowing she was in the world. That hurts. Thanks for the love and support. <strong>Please support 20-year-old Makayla on her healing journey.</strong> ❤️ Jesus is the reason she is still here, and yes, she has Medicaid, but some things it just won't cover, or it takes forever for them to pay the bill. So far, they have paid most of her bills, but everything is not covered through insurance, and once she turns 21, her insurance changes. Right now, my main concern is her having the right hospital bed to keep her oxygen levels elevated because that has been a concern. MAKAYLA KATRIECE BAKER ))) MAKAYLA STRONG knowing that she can’t sit up on her own she needs a special chair I have a 4 door nisssan i would have to trade that in for a van for a fully Disabled person and whatever Makayla needs to help her live a life as normal as she can in her situation. funds will be spent to make sure she has emergency medical equipment like a generator when storms come she has no neck movement so a lot of Makayla equipment costs and if you can donate these things would be even better ❤️Thank you for reading and thanks in advance for any and all donations and the prayers love and support Thank you❤️.sincerely Sylvia Davis update Makayla is doing better she just had her feeding tube done over and she is happy AND smiling things looking very good she will be coming home soon please continue to help us reach our goal so we can move I have a 2 year restraining order on this particular person and RRHA HAS HIRED HER TO WORK IN THE RENTAL OFFICE WHERE I LIVE SHE HAD ACCESS TO ALL MY PERSONAL INFORMATION NOT TO MENTION I GOT THE RESTRAINING ORDER DUE TO MAKAYLA SITUATION ..When the doctors told me Makayla was brain dead i would not accept that look at her smiling in her pictures from Friday thank you all so much for everything this is a very challenging time Makayla is alive and I am very greatful Makayla has a pure heart that’s why Jesus kept her she is alive she is still on a ventilator but hey that’s ok she is very well alive not brain dead the mistakes doctors make and then get mad when God shows up because Jesus did his big one on Makayla he rescued my baby Because he knew my heart couldn’t take loosing another Daughter HELP ME HELP MAKAYLA LIVE A NORMAL LIFE SHE IS VERY YOUNG JUST HANGING WITH THE WRONG PEOPLE CHANGED MY BABY LIFE FOREVER THIS IS SOMETHING I CANNOT UNDERSTAND MANY TIMES SHE HAS REACHED OUT TO HELP SOMEONE THE TIME SHE NEEDED SOMEONE THEY LEFT HER TO DIEMy heart aches every time I think of this but it also shows me the power of God don’t be so quick to give up on God have FAITH With tears rolling down my face God can do anything he really blew my mind I am blessed and grateful i didn’t want to write all this but go fund me wants to know the story so I decided to let you all know what we are dealing with and The state let me file a complaint against the hospital sentara let me file one I also filed several through the department of health and human services they stopped working on my baby because she were black and a organ donor NOW THAT I HAVE FULL POWER ATTORNEY I TOOK THAT OFF I KNOW SHE DID THAT BECAUSE SHE WANTED TO HELP SAVE A LIFE IF SHE COULD BUT TO WITHHOLD MEDICAL TREATMENT FROM HER WERE SO WRONG I THIS IS TRUE EVERYONE FAMILIAR WITH MY DAUGHTER KNOWS THOSE IS THE GOD HONEST TRUTH AND GOD WORKED ON HER RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEIR EYES MY BABY NOT BRAIN DEAD SHE HAS A LONG ROAD TO RECOVERY BUT I BELIEVE SHE WILL WALK AGAIN EVEN THOUGH THE DOCTORS SAID SHE WOULDN’T But hey they also said she were brain dead thank you all for the prayers donations and shares and thank you for reading Makayla story don’t forget God holds all power in his hands not the Doctor or the Judges it Jesus who we need to put our trust and believe in Thank you all again
