My name is Fred, and I am reaching out because my life has been turned upside down by liver failure. At just 32 years old, I never imagined I would be facing something so serious. Cirrhosis of the liver has left me unable to work, and the sickness has taken away my ability to do even the simplest things. I can’t afford gas to get to my liver team, and I struggle to pay for the medicine that keeps my liver running as normally as possible.
This illness has completely destroyed my life. I can’t work, I can’t go out, and now I am homeless. My wife and I are doing everything we can, but we just can’t do it anymore on our own. Every day feels like a fight just to survive. I am scared, and I am so young to be facing the possibility of dying.
We truly need help just getting started again—getting to and from my doctors, getting the medicine I need, and finding some stability with housing. Your support would mean the world to us. A random act of kindness from a stranger, to help my life in any way, would show me a side of the world I have never seen. I don’t normally have good things happen to me, but knowing someone cares if I live or die brings tears to my eyes. Thank you for reading my story and considering helping us during this difficult time.
