Help Christina Recover and Get Back on Her Feet On August 27, I was seriously injured and ended up in the emergency room and hospitalized with significant injuries to both of my hands and my leg. I have 13+ stitches across both hands, including deep injuries to my fingers, and I am currently receiving follow-up treatment because of the pain and difficulty using my hands. My leg also required surgery, and I am currently unable to walk normally without a boot and walker. My doctor expects I will need the walker for at least a month, possibly longer, and I may face a long recovery with lasting nerve damage. While I was hospitalized, I also had puppies depending on me. I had to temporarily leave the hospital to make sure they were safe and worked extremely hard to find them a safe placement. I arranged three separate appointments with Pasadena Humane so all of the puppies could safely be taken into their care. They are now safe and available for adoption through Pasadena Humane. Once I knew the puppies were safe, I returned to the hospital and was readmitted for surgery and overnight medical care. Right now, I am unable to work and facing continued medical treatment and basic living expenses while I recover. Friends are also helping care for my personal pets while I am unable to care for them myself. Before this happened, I was working hard to build a future around something I deeply care about. I recently received my EIN for ACT Animal Rescue Foundation and was working on the 501(c)(3) process, with hopes of eventually expanding my rescue work and helping more animals. I have spent so much of my life taking care of animals and fighting for those who need someone to advocate for them. Even while I was seriously injured, I made sure the puppies were safe. Now, I need help taking care of myself. EMERGENCY: Please Help Save Iubire ❤️ My dog Iubire is currently at the emergency veterinarian right now fighting through a serious injury. She needs immediate medical care, and we are facing an estimated $6,000 emergency veterinary bill. The ER team has already started treating her, including cleaning her wounds and providing stitches. She still needs further diagnostics, including X-rays, to determine the full extent of her injuries and what treatment she will need moving forward. Iubire is more than just a pet — she is my family. I am doing everything I can to make sure she gets the care she needs, but this unexpected emergency is beyond what I can manage alone. Over the past few months, I have been caring for Mama, a rescue dog who gave birth to puppies and needed help. Help Mama Pitbull & Her 9 Puppies Get Their First Vet Care Recently I rescued a pregnant pitbull I found at a recycling center who gave birth to 9 beautiful puppies. They are safe now, but they urgently need their first round of veterinary care to stay healthy. The vet has agreed to help us with low-cost services, but with Mama plus 9 puppies, the vaccines and care still add up. Their care plan includes: • Deworming (first two visits – donated by the vet) • DHPP vaccines to protect against parvo and distemper • Bordetella vaccines • Rabies vaccines when the puppies are old enough The total cost for all 10 dogs is about $1,500. Every dollar will go directly toward: Vaccines Deworming Basic veterinary care to keep them healthy until adoption or foster placement. My name is Christina, and I founded ACT Animal Rescue Foundation with the goal of helping animals that have nowhere else to go. Over time, our rescue efforts have grown quickly. We have taken in abandoned dogs, stray animals, and emergency rescues that needed immediate care. Recently, we also rescued a pregnant pit bull who safely gave birth to a litter of puppies that will soon need foster and forever homes. Because the number of animals needing help continues to grow, we are working toward securing a dedicated property where ACT Animal Rescue Foundation can safely operate and properly care for rescued animals. Having a dedicated rescue space will allow us to provide: • Safe temporary housing for rescue animals • Proper recovery areas for injured or vulnerable animals • Space to coordinate foster placements and adoptions • Storage for food, supplies, and rescue equipment Funds raised will go toward securing a suitable property, building safe animal areas, and covering essential veterinary care and rescue supplies. GoFundGemma Update We have an important update on Gemma’s recovery journey. Gemma recently underwent surgery to have her titanium plate successfully removed, along with 10 screws from her leg. This was a major step forward in her healing. While the plate originally helped stabilize her injury, she now needs focused rehabilitation to regain proper strength and learn to walk straight again. The next phase of Gemma’s recovery is professional physical therapy, which will help rebuild muscle, correct her gait, and give her the best chance at long-term mobility without pain. This will be our third GoFundMe for Gemma, and the new fundraising goal is $3,000, which will go directly toward her rehabilitation therapy sessions, follow-up veterinary care, and recovery support equipment. Gemma is the sweet rescue who was run over by an electric bike and left on the street for 4 days. A metal plate was placed in her leg to save it. Since then, she has grown from 30 lbs to 50 lbs, and the hardware that once helped her heal is now harming her. Last month, Gemma re-injured the same leg, and she now has visible swelling and irritation around the area. After examining her, the vet has recommended immediate plate removal to prevent worsening pain, infection, and permanent damage. The surgery alone costs $1,500, and she will also need four recasting visits after surgery to support proper healing. Despite everything, Gemma is still loving, playful, and full of spirit.
