I'm reaching out because I'm trying to get an apartment, but it's been really hard dealing with SSI and the limited amount of money I receive. Most places are asking for two or three times the rent up front, and I just don't have it. I don't have any family to help cosign or support me, and I'm also hoping to get a car. My birthday is coming up and I'll be 26, but I feel like I don't have anyone in my corner to help. Living on SSI means every dollar counts, and it's tough to save up for big expenses like moving or transportation. I've been searching for apartments, but the requirements are overwhelming, and I keep running into roadblocks. I want to be able to live independently and have a safe place to call home, but it feels impossible without help. Having a car would also make it easier for me to get to appointments, run errands, and hopefully find more opportunities. The funds from this fundraiser will help cover upfront apartment costs, a car, and give me a fresh start as I turn 26.
