I’m starting this fundraiser to help a friend of mine, Adrian, in Maumere, on Flores Island, who has been through an incredibly painful setback. We became friends about two years ago, and over that time I’ve come to admire how hard he has worked to build a better life. He adopted a child and raised him out of the streets, doing everything he could to provide stability, care, and a real future. Just about a week ago, after so much sacrifice and effort, he managed to pay for the child’s university. Only a few days later, an earthquake destroyed his home. Now he has no home of his own and is staying with a friend while trying to figure out what to do next. The funds from this fundraiser will help him with both repairs and rebuilding. Some parts of the house are still standing, but many of the walls have collapsed and the roof is gone, so the damage is too severe to fix with small repairs alone. I will personally withdraw the funds and send them to him so he can begin restoring his home and creating a safe place to live again with his adopted child. I’m asking for your support, whether through a donation or by sharing this fundraiser, to help my friend recover from this disaster and rebuild the home he worked so hard for.
