<div>
 My name is Robert Hubert, and my wife (Lynn) and I are organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my sister, Dawn Hubert-Hickey, as she copes with the recent loss of her husband and the financial uncertainty that has followed.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 My sister and her husband shared more than 30 years together. His sudden passing has been incredibly difficult, especially after the loss of her mother-in-law just two years ago. Both were important sources of emotional and financial support within the household.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Her husband was the primary breadwinner, and her mother-in-law also contributed to the household through her retirement and Social Security income. <strong>With both of them gone, my sister is now struggling to cover basic expenses and is at risk of losing the home she has lived in for years.</strong> Because the house was not legally in her name, transferring ownership may not be possible, leaving her in urgent need of alternative housing.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Returning to work is not currently a realistic option. My sister has permanent back injuries resulting from several serious accidents and has undergone major surgeries. Her condition limits how long she can sit or stand. Although she previously worked side jobs and drove for Uber when she was able, her health has declined and she can no longer continue that work.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 The funds raised will help her:
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 • Secure safe housing and cover rent
</div>
<div>
 • Pay for groceries, utilities, transportation, and other basic expenses
</div>
<div>
 • Have some financial stability while she grieves and determines her longer-term options
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Any contribution, regardless of the amount, would be sincerely appreciated. If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser would also be a meaningful way to help.
</div>
<div>

 Thank you for your kindness and support during this very difficult time.

Urgent Support for Dawn: Grieving Widow Facing Homelessness

<div>Fifteen-year-old Josiah has lost the person who meant everything to him. His mother, Hazel Morales, passed away unexpectedly at just 40 years old after suffering a sudden brain hemorrhage while at work. In a single moment, Josiah lost his greatest champion, fiercest advocate, and the person who devoted her life to helping him become the remarkable young man he is today.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you knew Hazel, you know there was simply no one else like her. She had a rare ability to light up every room she entered and leave every person feeling genuinely seen. Whether she was leading at work, spending time with family, or striking up a conversation with someone she had just met, Hazel connected with people in a way that was authentic, memorable, and deeply personal. Her warmth, humor, confidence, and unmistakable flair drew people to her, while her high standards and unwavering integrity earned their respect.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Hazel was a woman who occupied her space. She wasn't afraid to speak her mind, make difficult decisions, or lead with conviction. She was a boss in every sense of the word—someone who inspired others to do their best while never asking more of anyone than she expected of herself. The countless people whose lives she touched through her work and friendships each have their own story of how Hazel encouraged them, challenged them, made them laugh, or simply made them feel valued. Yet of all the roles Hazel filled, none mattered more to her than being Josiah's mom.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As a single mother, she poured her heart into raising her son. She wanted him to be kind, resilient, hardworking, and prepared to thrive in a world she knew could be challenging. Every sacrifice she made, every long day she worked, and every decision she carefully weighed was rooted in one purpose: giving Josiah every opportunity to succeed.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Anyone who knows Josiah can already see the legacy Hazel leaves behind. He is a gentle, kind, thoughtful, and remarkably resilient young man. He carries himself with quiet strength, treats others with respect, and has already demonstrated the character and determination his mother worked so hard to instill. Hazel's investment in him is evident every day.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Now it is our turn to invest in the future Hazel dreamed of for her son. This fund has been established to help provide Josiah with the stability, educational opportunities, and support he will need as he continues through high school and prepares for the next chapter of his life. While no gift can replace the love and guidance of his mother, together we can help ensure that the future she worked so tirelessly to build for him remains within reach.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If Hazel ever encouraged you, made you laugh, inspired you, challenged you, or simply brightened your day, we invite you to honor her memory by supporting the person she loved most. Every contribution, no matter the amount, is an investment in Hazel's greatest legacy.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>By helping Josiah continue on the path Hazel so carefully prepared for him, we celebrate the extraordinary life of a woman whose love, strength, and generosity will continue to shape the world through her son. Thank you for your generosity, your prayers, and your love. Together, we can help ensure that Hazel's greatest dream—for Josiah to thrive—becomes her enduring gift.

In Memory of Hazel Morales: Supporting Josiah

<div>Emily Ali and I grew up together in West Orange, NJ, where we attended West Orange High School side by side. Our friendship continued to grow as we both went on to Rutgers University, where Emily’s passion for science and language led her to double major in Genetics and Chinese, with a minor in Evolutionary Anthropology. After graduation, Emily moved to New York City in 2020 to work at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSK), dedicating her career to studying cancer, including pancreatic cancer, breast cancer, and melanoma. Her commitment to helping others was clear in everything she did, and she inspired everyone around her with her drive and compassion.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div> In 2023, Emily transitioned her research focus to gynecologic cancers, a decision deeply influenced by her mother’s diagnosis with endometrial cancer. Tragically, Emily’s mother passed away that year, and six months later, Emily also lost her aunt to pancreatic cancer. Despite her grief, Emily continued to move forward in her career, determined to transform outcomes for gynecologic cancer patients. These profound losses motivated her to pursue a PhD in Biological Anthropology, with a focus on understanding and improving knowledge of genetic markers for gynecologic cancers.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div> As she prepared to start this new chapter, Emily began experiencing troubling symptoms. Despite her excitement for school, she pushed through until severe abdominal pain sent her to the emergency room. That’s when she received the shocking diagnosis stage II Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. While her prognosis is favorable and she is hopeful for remission by next year, the journey ahead is filled with challenges.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div> Emily has already accumulated thousands of dollars in medical bills after just her first round of chemotherapy. Soon, she will be on medical leave and lose her living stipend, leaving her without income to cover rent and daily expenses. I am reaching out to ask for your support—any contribution, big or small, will help Emily focus on her recovery and ease the financial burden she faces. Your kindness will make a real difference in her fight against cancer.

<div>On Friday, June 9th a large fire broke out in Chelsea (NYC). The fire consumed the 1st floor apartment of Sandra Velez, where she lives with her 11-year old son who is autistic. She is a single mom, currently recovering from the immediate effects of losing her life's belongings in an apartment she has lived in for over 25-years.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>While we are grateful that Sandra and her son were able to escape the fire safely, they left the apartment with her phone and just the clothes on their backs. We are now fundraising to help them get back on their feet. Firefighters say the fire started in a rear alley on West 21st Street near 9th Ave and spread to the 1st floor of the 7-story apartment building. We are kindly asking the community for help!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>**Any donation through this website would be greatly appreciated! However, if you personally know Sandra and would like to donate directly to her, please reach out to her family or friends for the contact information for the alternate donation methods of Zelle or Venmo or digital gift cards to Walmart, Target or Amazon. Lastly, if you have any clothing items you would like to donate for her 11-year old son, please reach out to her family or friends to assist with a pickup/drop-off. Her son's clothing size is 11/12 and his shoe size is 5.5.**
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank You in advance for your assistance during this difficult time.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>NOTE: All funds donated will be directly benefiting Sandra Velez. Sandra Velez will be the sole beneficiary of all money raised. She has been a lifelong friend and at times colleague of mine. She expressed deep gratitude for all those that have helped.

Raise $$ for Sandra Velez - Loss of Apt in Fire

We are saddened by the loss of one of our Sport’s Mom Elizabeth Vera.   She had been battling Cancer for the past few years and still managed to make as many games as possible rooting for her Son, Jayden.  The Bandits and St. Vincent De Paul family loved when we saw Liz on the sidelines along with her twin boys Jaiya and Julian.  Her husband Jason was the glue running between doctor’s appointments, school, practices, games and still managed to take other kids to events like the Harlem Globetrotters.  His primary goal was to maintain a healthy schedule so that his kids didn’t feel the impact of what was going on with their Mom's battle with Cancer.  <br /><br />Please help us raise some money for the Vera family.  I have always believed in strength in numbers. I know we can do this!
