<div>On Sunday, October 18, my 3-year-old niece was struck by a car while crossing a marked crosswalk with her family in Santa Barbara. She suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Los Angeles for specialized care. My brother and sister-in-law are both self-employed. When they can’t work, they don’t get paid. There is no paid leave to fall back on, and right now, they need to be with their daughter. They don’t yet know when they’ll be able to return to work.
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div> Meanwhile, their household bills continue, alongside the added expenses of travel, meals, and being away from home while their little girl is hospitalized. They are also supporting their almost-8-year-old son through this frightening time. I’m her aunt, and I’m asking for help to replace their lost income and cover these expenses. Every donation will help them keep up with everyday bills and give them time to be with their children without the immediate worry of how to make ends meet. There is still so much uncertainty. Financial support is one concrete way we can help carry them through it. If you’re able to donate, any amount would mean so much. If you can’t, please consider sharing this fundraiser.
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div> Thank you for supporting my niece and the people who love her most. For more information about the accident, you can read the local coverage here: <a href="https://www.noozhawk.com/young-child-struck-by-vehicle-reportedly-critically-injured-in-santa-barbara/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><a href="https://www.noozhawk.com/young-child-struck-by-vehicle-reportedly-critically-injured-in-santa-barbara/" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.noozhawk.com/young-child-struck-by-vehicle-reportedly-critically-injured-in-santa-barbara/</a></a>

Help My Brother’s Family Stay Close

<div>On November 20, 2023, Jayden Kunzman, age 20 years old, passed away tragically on vacation in San Jose. He was enjoying an ATV ride when a car hit his ATV causing him to pass. Jayden was an amazing young man and just started living his life after high school. He just moved out with his friends and they got their own place. He was excited to start his new life with his own place. He was an athletic kid, always involved in sports especially football. He used to love to play football with his Dad and brother, he would even coach his brother and cousins in football. He was always the type of person that was ready for the next adventure, and always smiling. Oh, and if you couldn't find him, you could always find him in the gym.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div> His family and friends are devastated, and are having a hard time wrapping their heads around this tragic event.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are trying to raise funds for Jayden Kunzman's family for funeral, flights to and from Mexico, medical bills, lawyer bills and anything else that might pop up during this time of tragedy. Would also like to get a memorial bench in his name.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Lord we ask you to wrap your arms around Jayden's family and friends right now, amen.

<div>On November 7, 2023, our beloved Alfredo Arroyo experienced a massive heart attack. He was sent to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital where his journey began in the ICU. On November 9, Alfredo had open heart surgery which was a success but during his recovery he developed pneumonia. At this point Cottage Hospital said it was best to continue his care at UCLA medical center. Due to the severity Alfredo was then transported by Air Ambulance to UCLA where he is currently on a ECMO bypass machine and on dialysis. He’s currently in critical condition and UCLA is taking life saving measures.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Alfredo is loved by the Santa Barbara community. During the day he is a bartender at Joe’s Café and in the evening, he is the General Manager of the Crocodile Restaurant at the Lemon Tree Inn. Alfredo has been a pilar of the community since he was the GM at Café de Sol in Montecito for 39 years. Alfredo has been married to Adriana for 40 years. They have raised 3 beautiful children together. They are truly devoted to each other and their kids. Alfredo is a loving grandfather who spends his weekends cheering on his grandkids at sporting games, loves to run and spends quality time with his family. Alfredo’s key values are family and his faith.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Thank you to all who have reached out already to show their support and prayers to the Arroyo family, we appreciate all prayers and comforting words. With the loss of two incomes please consider a donation to help the family with fast approaching medical bills and household expenses. Unfortunately, UCLA doesn’t offer accommodations for Adriana and the family while Alfredo continues his care in the ICU at UCLA. This leaves his wife with no other option but to pay out of pocket for additional housing near UCLA.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>The GoFundMe donations will definitely ease some financial burdens for the Arroyo family. Once discharged from the hospital Alfredo will have a long recovery before being able to resume a normal life. We appreciate your compassion during this overwhelming difficult time and all the well wishes and prayers

<div>To know him is to love him.

Help Alfredo Arroyo Fight for Life

On Saturday 9/19, Amanda was in a severe accident, which inflicted multiple facial and upper extremity injuries.<br /><br />Her first jaw surgery was successful and we are grateful for the incredible care she has been receiving. However, we are currently at a difficult juncture in her recovery as Amanda has to have more surgeries that require specialists not covered by her insurance. Moreover, with her job as a behavior technician, primarily working with elementary school children with autism, needs to take unpaid leave to recover. This will have repercussions on her ability to afford necessary long-term medical care and also to the children under her guidance at work. Similarly, her mother, an independent contractor, will also be taking unpaid time off to give her required round-the-clock care. She is currently at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, CA.<br /><br />To the Friends, Family, and acquaintances of Amanda, we now turn to you for support: we are immensely grateful for any form of donation made in her name. We guarantee that 100% of the donations will be put towards her medical bills.<br /><br />We are optimistic about Amanda’s full recovery and are so thankful for your continued love and support!<br /><br />We also accept venmo @Lisa-Barth-1
