Disabled MS patient facing Chicago January homelessness. Julie Carey is a bright, beautiful, and sober 51-year-old animal advocate. She was recently fired from her job at Phillips-Chicago, where she excelled at assisting patients with their heart monitoring issues. This was due to her mandatory two spinal stenosis surgeries and her multiple sclerosis diagnosis. She was thus terminated and lost her health insurance. Julie has since exhausted her life savings while awaiting the appeal of her SSI disability claim and is sadly facing eviction and homelessness. She is currently trying her best to deliver for DoorDash (with an assistant) in an unheated, unreliable car. She only has two weeks to raise the $1,800 her landlord has required to prevent her eviction into the brutal Chicago winter. Julie is a single, disabled cat lover with no family members able or willing to help. She is praying for a Christmas miracle.
