My name is Brianna, and I’ve always been someone who works hard and helps others. Since I was 17, I’ve been a single mom, raising my children and doing my best to provide for them. I’m the only one working in our household.

 Recently, I was diagnosed with cancer and need surgery. I’ve been putting off the procedure because I was worried about how we would manage our living expenses while I recover. But now, I have to choose my health and move forward with surgery and treatment, even though it means I’ll be out of work for at least 12 weeks.

 The funds from this fundraiser will help cover our medical bills, car payments, food, diabetes medication, and medical equipment while I’m unable to work. I’ve reached out to local agencies like DSHS and the Opportunity Council, but I’ve found that I need to stop working completely to qualify for most assistance. This is very hard for me to ask, especially from people who may not know me well, but we truly need help right now. Anything you can give will make a difference for me and my son, and we will be so grateful. Thank you for reading and for any support you can offer.

She’s always been the strong one, the provider, the caretaker for her family, clients, and everyone who needed her. But right now, her body is shutting down. She’s been having multiple seizures a day and is currently stuck in a hospital in Detroit.

<div><strong>I flew out immediately to be with her, but the reality is… I can’t afford to stay here long.</strong> I’m trying to be strong like her, but I’m scared and I refuse to leave her alone while she’s going through this. We don’t know how long this will last. We don’t know if she’ll ever be able to safely drive/transport alone again. What I do know is she needs time. Time to rest. Time to heal. And right now, she can’t even think about healing without stressing over bills or if she’s going to be able to work again.

<div><strong>I’m asking for help so I can stay here with her and make sure she’s not facing this alone.</strong> And I want to raise enough that she can take a real break without guilt, without financial fear, and just space to get better, however long that takes.
