My name is David Forrest, and I am an artist and photographer originally from Brooklyn, New York, creating a deeply personal exhibition called Beneath a Clear Blue Sky. On September 11, 2001, I was still living in New York City and photographed the events of that morning as they unfolded. For the 25th anniversary, I am presenting those photographs, along with artifacts connected to that day, in a solo exhibition curated by Kyle Eagle.
This exhibition is deeply personal to me. I want to honor those who were lost, preserve what I witnessed, and help future generations understand the human impact of September 11, especially here in Florida, where distance and time have allowed too many people to forget. This will be one of the only public exhibitions in the Orlando area created to commemorate the 25th anniversary of September 11.
Crealdé is providing the exhibition space, but I am personally responsible for much of the cost. Donations will help cover the production of the exhibition and the September 11 commemorative program. I also hope this exhibition can begin a larger conversation about creating something permanent here in Orlando to remember September 11 and honor everyone whose life was affected by that day. Every contribution will help me present this exhibition with the care and dignity it deserves and ensure that these memories are not forgotten. Thank you for your support.
