What they care about

Born and raised in Jamaica, I came to the United States driven by purpose, passion, and the desire to grow. With a degree in Food and Beverage .

Good morning everyone, I’m coming to you this morning with my heart full. As I sit on the subway waiting for the train to go to work, I can’t stop the tears from falling. My mind and heart are heavy thinking about what my country is facing right now. I’m from a small community in Jamaica called Beechamville, St. Ann — or “Tankstreet,” as we lovingly call it. You probably won’t hear about my area on the news because it’s far from the tourist spots, but I know my people back home are www is to pack and ship four barrels of essential items to help families in Beechamville who are in need. I really want to help my community so badly — it’s tearing my heart apart. Every time I scroll through social media, I see so many people giving back, and I’m genuinely happy for them. But not being able to do the same for my own community hurts deeply. I just want to make a difference in Beechamville, St. Ann — the place that raised me, the people who shaped me. One day soon, I’ll be able to give back the way my heart truly wants to.
