<div>Help Save Furvana Cat Rescue Before It’s Too Late

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Furvana Cat Rescue has only been around for a year, but in that short time, we’ve taken in, vetted, and cared for so many cats because Bayonne desperately needed help. We saw the suffering and knew we couldn’t turn away.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>But the truth is… we are at the end of our rope.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>I am one person doing the work of ten — trapping, vetting, fostering, adoptions, transport, paperwork, and fundraising. We are in debt, drowning in medical bills, and overwhelmed with cats in need. Without immediate help, Furvana will have to close very soon.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>This GoFundMe is to raise $5,000 to cover:

</div>

<div>	•	Overdue medical bills for the cats already in our care

</div>

<div>	•	Our debt to the bank that has kept us afloat

</div>

<div>	•	Food and litter for our fosters

</div>

<div>	•	Future spay/neuter surgeries and medical needs

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Every dollar helps us keep our doors open and continue saving lives. Without this support, Furvana will not survive.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Please consider donating, sharing this campaign, or starting your own small fundraiser to benefit Furvana. Together, we can keep this rescue alive and continue helping Bayonne’s cats.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>From the bottom of my heart — thank you for believing in us, and in the cats whose lives depend on this rescue.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Donate today and help us keep going.

<div>Tragedy struck Long Island when <strong>HAPPY CAT SANCTUARY was hit with a house fire.</strong> <strong>CHRISTOPHER ARSENAULT, the owner and founder, lost his life while running back into the house trying to free the cats.</strong> We have over 450 cats that are still being secured and will need vetting, vaccinating, and rescues to step up and help us secure them. <strong>Please donate anything you can.</strong> We are absolutely devastated and distraught over the loss of Chris and the sanctuary. We have secured over 450 cats from the Medford Sanctuary and the upstate facility. We currently have a 4500sf free roaming indoor facility where they will be carefully cared for until we can find land here on Long Island where Chris always wanted to build an indoor/outdoor sanctuary. The money raised will help to pay our vet bills, supplies, rent for the temporary facility and secure the land and build the new permanent sanctuary.

<div>Surrounded by collapsed buildings, a small bundle of fur hides in the dark of night cowering at the sound of missiles exploding and bullets whizzing by. As he closes his eyes, he can see his owner's face smiling down at him; her gentle hand rubbing his silky ears; her soothing voice calming his fears.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>His thoughts are quickly interrupted by the sound of his stomach growling. How long since he has eaten? A day? A month? You see, time is different for a dog. One hour away from the human they love can feel like an eternity and now lost, alone, and starving his small body begins to give up.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As night turns into day and the sun breaks the horizon, he lays his head gently on the ground. His body hurts. His heart hurts. He tried so hard to wait for his human to come back for him, but he can wait no more.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As he closed his eyes for what he thought was the last time, a gentle voice was suddenly heard in the wind. “Are you okay boy?”
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Those four words gave the pup the strength to open his eyes one more time and to his surprise, a young man was approaching. “It’s okay boy, we will get you out of here.”
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As the man knelt beside the poor dog's broken body, he slowly ran his hand across its matted fur. “You are safe now boy. We got you.”
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The pup used every last ounce of strength to gently lift his tail in an attempt to wag it but quickly gave in to weakness. “Good boy. You rest now.” The broken dog closed his eyes as gentle hands wrapped him in a blanket and carefully picked him up off the cold ground. He could hear the beating of the man's heart as he was brought in and held close.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The pup, now feeling safe for the first time in weeks, opened his eyes once again and looked up into the man’s eyes. Was he in heaven? No, he was in the arms of a rescuer which to a lost and abandoned pup…is the arms of an angel.
</div>
<div><br />

<div>This story, unfortunately, is the story of thousands of animals across war-torn countries. Left alone to fend for themselves they experience injuries, starvation, dehydration, and even death for not all are lucky enough to be found by caring hands.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We at Transform a Street Dog, a registered 501c3 non-profit, believe every animal deserves a second chance at a loving life and that is why we are on the ground in Ukraine helping to rescue the innocent victims of war.

<div><br />
</div>
<div>Since arriving in Ukraine in 2018, our goal has been to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome abandoned and neglected street dogs and to this day it still surprises us just how many there are. In fact, there are estimated to be over 100,000 stray dogs across the country which may make it seem like an impossible task to save them all…but even saving just one life at a time makes all our hard work worth it.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>To see the fear in a pup's eyes slowly fade into trust and eventually find their forever home is beyond heart-warming and we couldn’t do it without your continued support.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Today, we work tirelessly with independent rescuers in Ukraine to take animals off the street, provide them with essential medical care, place them in safe temporary housing for rehabilitation, and find them loving homes abroad.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>With the war raging on, more dogs and cats are becoming homeless every day and greatly need our help to save their lives. This has been made especially difficult with the United States ban on the import of Ukrainian dogs in July 2021 and the now upcoming Canadian ban that goes into effect on September 28th, 2022.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>That is why today, we are seeking both URGENT funding and ONGOING funding to transport 8 more dogs to Canada before the Canadian dog ban goes into effect and continue our work abroad rescuing those without a voice.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Currently, we are providing shelter for around 60 dogs and 40 cats all of which need daily care, food, rehabilitation, and most importantly…love! Therefore, ongoing support is essential to our cause and your generosity helps us save more lives!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>100% of your generous donations will go directly towards the following:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Maintaining vans abroad to transport rescued dogs and cats to veterinarian clinics, across the border, to their new homes, and for urgent rescue missions
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Maintaining 3 kennel facilities abroad (Ukrainian "peretrymka") so that suffering animals found on the street have a safe and secure place to live while recovering medically, going through rehabilitation, and awaiting adoption
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Food to feed dogs and cats in our care
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Sterilizations, medical treatment, life-saving surgeries
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Transportation expenses to transport dogs to countries abroad
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Every life we are able to save is one more animal that does not need to suffer a senseless death on the streets of Ukraine. They need our help today and every day moving forward so that together, we can bring hope back to the most precious souls on earth.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We cannot thank you enough for your support and ask that you please share our campaign with your family, friends, co-workers, neighbours, and fellow animal lovers. We have the power to save lives…let’s join together and give voices to those who need it most

UPDATE: On behalf of Kike, thank you so much to everyone who has donated money and time to help us with his recovery. We will be posting an update soon about everything we have been able to do for him so far, thanks to your generosity. Muchas gracias! <br /><br />************<br />Our dear friend <strong>Enrique "Kike" Flor</strong>'s life changed drastically on January 20th when he suffered a stroke.<br /><br />He was paralyzed on the left side of his body and is now re-learning how to move his hand, his arm and his leg, how to walk, and many other actions we often take for granted. <br /><br /> He is in good spirit, working hard every day to recover as soon as possible. Kike wants to go back to being the dedicated and active dad to his 12-year-old daughter Marianita. He also wants to keep doing his work as a journalist, exposing wrongdoings and giving a voice to his community. <br /><br /> But his rehabilitation will take time and is very costly. We are asking for your help during this process. Every bit counts. <br /><br /> Kike needs help paying for therapy and transportation to and from his therapy and many doctors' appointments. Right now he needs assistance 24/7 since he broke a vertebrae after a fall. We are also working on adapting his house to make it safer for his eventual return. <br /><br /> We appreciate your help and well wishes for Kike.<br /><br /> Thank you,<br /><br />Brenda and Erika<br /><br />************<br />La vida de nuestro querido amigo <strong>Enrique "Kike" Flor</strong> cambió drásticamente el 20 de enero, cuando sufrió un derrame cerebral. <br /><br /> Gracias,<br /><br /> Brenda y Erika
