What they care about

I am just a girl which her journey became a purpose. Animals are my life, rescuing is what makes me whole and make it all worth it.

My name is Debb Heard, and for me, rescue started as a journey and became a purpose. For more than seven years, I've been rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs in need, and I did it on my own, paying for everything myself (when I wasn't busy being a foster fail ). But there's only so much one person can do alone. That's why I founded Heard Paws Rescue: to help more dogs than I ever could by myself. We may be a rescue just starting out, but I'm a volunteer at heart and always will be. Volunteering at the shelter gives us a front-row seat to how badly these dogs need a way out. The overlooked and forgotten are often the ones hurting the most. But this fundraiser is not about a shelter dog, but a sweetheart that was surrended to me together with her sister while the rescue didn’t even exist. Their previous parents went through hardship and asked for help, and I gave. And that’s how Kona came into my life. She was vetted, treated for her skin issued , 100% cared for and most of all extremely loved. And she gave me way more back. The unconditional and grateful love we all know they are capable of. But unfortunately we had terrible news today. Kona had ingested something that got stuck into her tummy and she needed surgery to remove it and avoid stomach damage. And even more unfortunate needs to be a full open stomach surgery due to the object being to low down to the intestine. We spent so far $8.000+ to get her into surgery and she is now being prepped after 12h on fluids waiting . First I want to ask to send all the positive vibes for her. And if you can donate for her care. Any help is more than welcome and means the world to me. Specially because it will help me keep helping dogs more and more.

Help Us Save Champion My name is Debb Heard, and for me, rescue started as a journey and became a purpose. The overlooked and forgotten are often the ones hurting the most. This fundraiser is about giving one of them that chance. Meet Champion (A2793035). Since arriving at Miami-Dade Animal Services, he has declined dramatically. Without the proper treatment, his skin infection has become so severe that he's losing his fur and creating wounds. Treating skin infections is simple but not easy: it takes time, consistency, and care, whatever the underlying cause. I'm confident we can get him healthy again following a specific protocol, but we need time, a foster, and funds to make it happen. We need to your before Champion becomes a matter of deadline for being labeled as “too complex to treat or too advanced stage of infection …” The good news: Champion has a foster! Now we need our community to come together to cover the treatment he needs. Our starting goal is $1,500, which will cover his vet visit, bloodwork, skin and ear cytology, skin scrape, PCR testing, medicated baths, his first month of medication, and a special diet. We'll share updates every step of the way, but first, we need you. Please help us save Champion and give this sweet boy the second chance he deserves.

Hi, Prime is in foster care since Sep 22, yesterday. He is doing great. I bought him special whole food for his GI inflammation and to help prep him for the surgery and happily he is being able to go to the bathroom. Surgery will be performed at MVS, and he will come back for home care right after. Thank you so much for what you donate so far to help save his life. <3
Prime (A2759271) needs our help. Prime is a senior American Bulldog Mix, around 7y old that is currently at Miami Dade County Animal Shelter waiting to loose his life. Prime did absolutly nothing wrong but to give love, affection his whole life. Extremely sweet, docile, gentle, was one of the starts of the Senior Pups event at the Tripping Animals Brewery on Sep 12th ! Unfortunately he needs urgent surgery for a bilateral perineal hernia repair and he was give a deadline of Sep 25, 2026. Fortunately Prime has a medical foster and long term foster committed waiting for him but we can't pull him if we don't have enough funds for his surgery and post-op. We count on you to save his life and any amount matters. I will update this post as soon as I get surgery estimate. I may be lower or higher of the goal stablished. Thank you so much!
