Help Support Theresa Emrie in Her Fight Against ALS
My name is Pamela, and I’m reaching out on behalf of someone who has spent so much of her life caring for others—someone who now desperately needs others to care for her.
Her name is Theresa Emrie.
Theresa was once my acupuncturist, but over the years, she became much more than that. She became someone I deeply respect, care about, and consider a dear friend.
If you have ever had the privilege of knowing Theresa, you know exactly what makes her so special.
Theresa is one of those rare people who quietly leaves the world a better place simply by being in it. She is gentle, compassionate, soft-spoken, and kind. She listens when people need to be heard and genuinely cares about the people around her. Through her work, she has spent decades helping people feel better, cared for, comforted, and supported.
Now, Theresa is facing something no one should ever have to face.
She has been diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), a devastating, progressive, and currently incurable disease that can gradually affect a person's ability to move, communicate, and manage many of the everyday things most of us take for granted.
It breaks my heart knowing that someone who has spent so much of her life helping others is now facing a future filled with enormous challenges, uncertainty, and expenses that no one should have to face alone.
For Theresa, this is so much more than a medical diagnosis. It means facing an uncertain future while preparing for profound changes to nearly every part of her daily life.
As her condition progresses, Theresa will need specialized medical equipment, mobility and communication devices, home modifications, medical supplies, physical and occupational therapies, accessible transportation, and eventually increased in-home assistance.
These are essential needs—not luxuries.....all of which can help Theresa remain safe, comfortable, connected to the people she loves, and as independent as possible for as long as possible. Unfortunately, the cost of these needs are expensive and can quickly become overwhelming.
If Theresa has ever helped you, listened to you, comforted you, treated you, encouraged you, or simply made you feel cared for, this is an opportunity to give something back.
And if you don’t know Theresa personally, I hope you’ll still consider helping her through this incredibly difficult chapter of her life. Compassion doesn’t require knowing someone—it simply requires seeing someone in need and choosing to care. Right now, Theresa needs that kindness more than ever.
Please consider giving whatever you can. No donation is too small. A contribution that may seem modest on its own, when combined with the generosity of others, can help provide the equipment, care, and assistance Theresa will need.
Your donation will help Theresa and her family ease some of the financial strain that comes with ALS, allowing them to focus less on the cost of what lies ahead and more on what matters most—Theresa, her care, her comfort, and making the most of the time they have together.
If donating isn't possible right now, sharing her fundraiser with your family, friends, coworkers or social media is just as meaningful and very much appreciated.
Let's give Theresa the support, resources, and sense of community she deserves—and remind her that the kindness she has given so freely throughout her life has not gone unnoticed and that she does not have to carry the weight of this journey alone.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking your time to read Theresa’s story, for caring, for sharing, and for helping in any way you can. ❤️
