I have faced a lifetime of trauma, both in childhood and as an adult, which has resulted in severe mental health challenges, PTSD, seizures, panic attacks, and night terrors. These struggles led to alcohol addiction and the need for psychiatric and substance abuse treatment. I am currently in treatment, working hard to achieve sobriety and improve my mental health, but I am unable to work right now to support myself or my service dog. In just three weeks, my treatment will end, and I will have nowhere to live and very few resources. My service dog is my lifeline, helping me manage daily challenges, but I am struggling to provide for his medical needs, food, and basic care. I am determined to get my life on track, starting with sobriety, therapy, and medication, but I need a safe place for us to live and support for our basic needs while I search for a job and work toward self-sufficiency for the first time in my life. Your support will help cover medical treatment for my service dog, provide us with a safe place to stay, and ensure we have food and essentials as I continue my recovery journey.
