I am reaching out because domestic violence has caused me to struggle beyond belief. My car is absolutely not functioning, and I’m trying to replace the transmission, which costs more than I have. I am currently 9 months behind on my mortgage, and I turned his cell phone in today only to find that I am responsible for the balance of $386. These challenges have made it nearly impossible for me to sustain my home and move forward. Funds raised will help me repair my car’s transmission so I can try to regain stability and access resources. Having a working car is essential for maintaining my independence, getting to work, and caring for my family. Without reliable transportation, I am unable to meet basic needs or pursue opportunities that could help me rebuild my life. I’m desperate. I’ve been the victim of domestic violence for the last time. After having him arrested for harassment and pushing police to file for assault, I am left seven months behind on mortgage payments and unsure if I can afford food this month. My job as a pre-K teacher ends June 12, and I am seeking a full-time position. Reporting my trauma has caused additional stress and hardship, and I am struggling to keep up with basic needs. The funds raised will help cover overdue mortgage payments, basic living expenses like food, and provide stability while I transition to a new job. This support will help me regain safety and independence after leaving an abusive situation. It’s sadly the reason so many stay for as long as we do—fear and uncertainty.
