My name is Brittney Hollett. I was born in Newfoundland, Canada in 1992. I’ve become a humanitarian for Gaza, and today I’m sharing my latest campaign: Project Open Doors #2 Mohammed — Gaza, Age 22 Mohammed finished high school and earned his guidance certificate. He dreams of studying technology and computer science, but the war, the blockade, and the collapse of opportunities in Gaza have made this dream unreachable for now. He is responsible for supporting his family, yet he has no stable job and no reliable source of income. They currently live in a house without proper walls, close to the yellow line — an area under constant danger from fire and military operations. With winter approaching, Mohammed’s family urgently needs swads, cover materials, food, and basic essentials to stay safe and warm. Any support offered will help them build a more protective shelter, meet their daily needs, and allow Mohammed to continue his education so he can build a future for his family. His message is simple: “We need a hand that reaches out to us in these difficult circumstances. Thank you to everyone who can help us and stand by us.” In his own words: "I am Mohammed, a young Palestinian from Gaza, 22 years old. I finished high school and obtained my guidance certificate, and I dream of completing my university studies in the field of technology and computer science, but the difficult conditions and the lack of job opportunities made it very difficult to achieve this dream. I am responsible for supporting my family, and I do not have a stable job or a sufficient source of income to secure our basic needs. We currently live in a house without walls that protect us, near the yellow line, in an area in constant danger due to fire and military operations. As winter approaches, we urgently need swads and cover materials to protect us from rain and cold, in addition to food and basic needs of my family. So I ask you to help us urgently. Any support they provide us will help provide a more protective shelter for my family and secure our basic needs, and will help me continue my education and build a future in which I can support my family. We need a hand that reaches out to us in these difficult circumstances. Thank you to everyone who can help us and stand by us."
Talin is a young girl who lives in Gaza with her three brothers and her parents; her father suffers from a disease that requires urgent medicine and this medicine is expensive because of the war. Their lives were shaped by a constant lack of everything: food, medicine, electricity and safety, as every day became a struggle to secure basic needs. Her older brother, Aboud, is only 19 years old. Despite his constant attempts to provide for the family by any means possible, employment opportunities are almost non-existent under the current circumstances. Talin's mother bears the burden of providing food and care for everyone, even at times when she has nothing to offer. The father's health condition makes the situation more difficult and his father needs to travel as a result of his work outside the sector, while the family is completely unable to provide or obtain treatment. At this moment, their food stock is about to run out, and their options are narrowing. But the only thing they don't run out of hope; the hope that someone, somewhere, will see their story and lend them a helping hand to overcome this ordeal and survive. This donation campaign aims to help the Talin family buy food, provide epilepsy medicine to the father, and cover the basic needs that ensure their safety and survival. Every contribution, no matter how small or large, makes a real difference in their lives. If you are able to help, you are not just providing this family with financial help, but giving them a chance to take a breath, eat, and continue to hold on. - Aboud, 19 A note from the campaign manager: Thank-you sincerely for being here and supporting this family I have come to know and love as my own. Peace for everyone.
