Subject: Building a Sustainable Future: Request for Grant Support for an Orphan-Run Orphanage in Bugiri, Uganda Dear people of humanity I hope this letter finds you well. My name is James, and I am writing to share the incredible story of Mwase Badiru, a 23-year-old orphan who has turned his personal hardships into hope for others. Mwase founded an orphanage in Bugiri, Uganda, where he now cares for more than 70 children who have no family of their own. Mwase's story is one of extraordinary resilience and selflessness. Despite having so little, he opened this orphanage to give other children a safe place to call home. Every day, he works tirelessly to feed, protect, and nurture the children in his care, ensuring they have what he never did-a family and a chance at a better future. However, food insecurity is one of the greatest challenges the orphanage faces. A small group of dedicated volunteers has been fundraising and using their own limited resources to ensure the children have food each day, but it's simply not enough. The orphanage urgently needs support to purchase 2 acres of land for $8,000 USD, which will allow them to grow their own food and raise animals like chickens, providing the stability they need to thrive. Until this land is purchased, the children cannot plant crops or keep livestock, leaving them dependent on donations for every meal. With the land, they would be able to grow staple crops like maize and beans, raise chickens for eggs and meat, and become self-sufficient. Mwase's Story: From Orphan to Leader Mwase Badiru grew up as an orphan himself, facing hardship after hardship. But instead of giving in to despair, he turned his pain into purpose. At just 23 years old, he leads the orphanage with wisdom and compassion far beyond his years. it's a daily battle to make sure there's enough food for everyone." [Eva Perez], Supporter and Fundraiser How Your Support Can Help We are requesting $8,000 USD to purchase 2 acres of land, with additional funds for tools, seeds, and poultry. Technology is also a crucial need at the orphanage a new phone and and a tablet would give the children access to educational videos and online learning platforms, helping them expand their knowledge and develop valuable skills. Budget Breakdown (all amounts are estimated and just for the template) Item Amount (USD) Land Purchase (z acres) $8,000 Agricultural Tools and Equipment (hoes, spades, watering cans) $1,500 Seeds and Fertilizer $1,000 Chickens and Poultry Care $1,500 Facility Upgrades (repairing dormitories, improving sanitation) $2,000 School Fees and Educational Materials 53,000 Basic Healthcare $1,000 Phone and Tablet for Educational Use $1,000 Total Requested Funding: $19,000 USD The Long-Term Vision Once the land is purchased, Mwase and the children will plant staple crops, providing consistent, nutritious meals. Raising chickens will supply eggs and meat while offering a small income stream. Access to technology, such as a phone and tablet, will enable the children to watch educational videos, learn new skills, and connect with the world beyond their immediate surroundings. This land will give the orphanage the opportunity to grow, thrive, and become self-sufficient. It will ensure that Mwase's vision-a home filled with love, hope, and opportunity-can continue to flourish for years to come. Why Your Support Matters Without this land and the necessary tools, the orphanage will remain dependent on donations and vulnerable to food shortages. Your support will transform their future, providing stability, security, and opportunity for generations to come.

My dear friend, I want to explain more clearly about the situation Abdoulie is facing in The Gambia, because his difficulties are not only about paying rent. Abdoulie is responsible for several of his younger siblings, and they are living together in a rented compound. Because there are many of them, including both boys and girls who are growing older, they cannot all comfortably sleep in one room. They need separate rooms, which makes the cost of renting enough space very difficult for him to manage. Sometimes, when Abdoulie is unable to pay the rent on time, the landlord comes to the compound and tells him and his siblings that they have to leave. What makes it even harder for Abdoulie is that the landlord sometimes shouts at him about the unpaid rent in front of the neighbors. This leaves him feeling deeply ashamed and embarrassed, especially because he is already doing everything he can to take care of his family. Abdoulie does not want to continue depending on other people to solve the same problem every month. He wants to find a permanent solution for himself and his siblings. A friend from Germany helped him by buying a piece of land for him. Abdoulie's hope now is to build a small, simple home on that land where his siblings can have a stable place to live. His goal is not to build a luxury house. He simply wants a safe and peaceful place where his family can stay together without the constant fear of being asked to leave because of unpaid rent. Abdoulie is also trying to become independent and create a way to support his family through his own work. He wants to build something that can give his siblings stability and allow them to live with dignity. The situation is very difficult, but Abdoulie is not giving up. He is trying to turn the little opportunities he has into a better future for his family. His biggest dream is simply to have a stable home for his siblings and to be able to provide for them without constantly asking others for help. That is why building on the land is so important to him. It would mean much more than just having a house—it would give Abdoulie and his siblings security, dignity, peace, and a place they can finally call home. InshaAllah, with the help of good people and through his own hard work, he hopes to make this dream a reality.
