well I first met Roger when he was homeless. I took him in and let him live in my loft conversion. He had terminal cancer and was depressed as he had no family (his wife and children passed away) the sweetest man and friendliest anyone had ever met.

We are raising funds to give a truly dignified and heartfelt farewell to a remarkable 79-year-old man who recently passed away. In the final chapter of his life, he faced profound hardship. After losing his wife and children, he found himself alone and vulnerable, experiencing homelessness and being taken advantage of by those around him. Despite everything, he remained a kind and giving person—someone who had spent much of his life working for a charity and supporting others in need. Three days ago, he tragically took his own life, unable to see a way forward. It’s a heartbreaking reminder of how easily people can be overlooked when they need help the most. Since coming into my care, I saw firsthand the goodness in him—his stories, his warmth, and his quiet resilience. He was more than his struggles. He was a valued member of the community, and he deserves to be remembered with dignity and respect. We are hoping to raise funds to cover funeral costs and, if possible, install a memorial bench in his honor—a place where people can sit, reflect, and remember a life that mattered. Any contribution, no matter how small, would mean so much. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this message to help us give him the send-off he truly deserves. Thank you for your kindness and support.
