<div>We found Sadie when she was just a tiny puppy living on the streets. She was little, hungry, and needed someone. I couldn’t leave her there knowing she had no real safety, no home, and no one properly looking out for her.

<div>From that moment, she became part of our family.

<div>We were living in Indonesia at the time, and Sadie quickly became our whole life. She became one of the main reasons we stayed for as long as we did.

<div>Eventually, our circumstances changed, and we had to return to Australia to work, save money, and rebuild our lives. Australia is home for me, and all I want now is for Sadie to be here with us too.

<div>Right now, Sadie is safe and being cared for, but she is still not home.

<div>We have made sure she always has somewhere safe to stay and someone looking after her while we are unable to be there.

<div>Sadie has had to stay behind while we complete all the steps required to bring her to Australia. She doesn’t understand why we leave, when we are coming back, or why she cannot simply come with us.

<div>That is the hardest part.

<div>All I want is to give her the life she deserves- a stable home, a soft bed, proper care, cuddles and love every day, and the chance to never be left behind again.

<div>Bringing a dog from Indonesia to Australia is not simple. It is a strict and extremely expensive legal process. Sadie cannot simply get on a plane and fly directly to Australia. She must complete every required step before she is allowed into the country.
</div>

<div>The process includes:

<div>• Veterinary checks and ongoing medical care
</div>
<div>• Microchipping and rabies vaccinations
</div>
<div>• Rabies blood testing and parasite treatments
</div>
<div>• Export permits and government paperwork
</div>
<div>• Support from an experienced animal relocation company
</div>
<div>• Travel through an approved country
</div>
<div>• At least six months of accommodation and care during the required waiting period
</div>
<div>• International cargo flights
</div>
<div>• An Australian import permit
</div>
<div>• Australian quarantine fees
</div>
<div>• Transport after she is finally released

<div>The total cost is expected to exceed $20,000, on top of everything we have already paid and will continue paying for her ongoing care.

<div>Without help, I will continue working and saving until I can make it happen. But every additional month it takes is another month Sadie remains separated from us.

<div>It is with broken hearts that we share the devastating loss of our beautiful mum, who tragically passed away at just 52 years old in a car accident on 19 June.
</div>
<div>Her passing was sudden and unexpected, leaving behind her four children, Amanda, Jamie, Jonathan and myself, who are all trying to come to terms with losing the most important person in our lives.
</div>
<div>Our mum was a loving, caring and selfless person who always put her family first. She had a heart of gold and touched the lives of everyone who knew her. The pain of losing her so suddenly is something we never imagined we would have to face.

<div>We are creating this GoFundMe to help cover the costs of her funeral and memorial expenses, along with any unexpected expenses that come with such a heartbreaking loss. We want to give our mum the beautiful farewell she deserves and honour the incredible woman she was.

<div>The Longwood fire in Victoria has torn through the region, and from the very beginning, Gunyah Animal Sanctuary in Yarck was directly in its path.
</div>

</div>
<div>As the fire moved through the area, it tore across the sanctuary property, leaving widespread devastation behind. In a matter of hours, years of work were destroyed — barns, shelters, fencing, water systems, paddocks, and all of the feed we had only just managed to secure weeks earlier were lost to the fire.
</div>

</div>
<div>In the immediate aftermath, our greatest relief was that the animals had survived. However, as veterinary assessments have now taken place, we are heartbroken to share that one of our beloved cows, our gentle big boy Lennie, had suffered a serious burn injury that he would not have been able to recover from. With heavy hearts, the decision was made to end his suffering. Lennie was deeply loved, and his loss is felt profoundly.

<div>We are relieved to share some good news as well. The three ponies who were initially missing have now been located and safely reunited. After so much uncertainty, seeing them back together has brought comfort during an incredibly difficult time.
</div>

<div>Right now, we are focused on the immediate and ongoing needs of the animals — veterinary care, food, clean water, safe fencing, and shelter. With the sanctuary’s infrastructure and stored supplies destroyed, we are now beginning to understand the true scale of what has been lost.

<div>Recovery and rebuilding will be a long journey. Our hope is not only to restore what was lost, but to rebuild Gunyah stronger and better, so it can continue to be a safe haven for animals well into the future.

<div>The Longwood fire didn’t just destroy land. It erased a lifetime of devotion.
</div>

<div>For more than six decades, Dr Robyn Coy, now 69 years old, has lived for one purpose only: to protect animals who had nowhere else to go. From childhood, Robyn has rescued, treated, fed, healed, and loved wildlife and livestock that others could not save. She never sought recognition, comfort, or security. She chose the animals, every single time.

<div>Tarcombe Wildlife Shelter was not a business. It was not a hobby. It was a life lived in service.
</div>

<div>Robyn lived simply so others could live at all. A camp toilet. Basic shelter. Long nights sleeping close to the animals she was caring for. She spent more time in the pit with injured and orphaned wildlife than she ever did thinking about herself. Horses, goats, lambs, kangaroos, joeys, a python, tawny frogmouths and countless others found safety behind her fences and in her care.

<div>Yesterday, fire tore through everything.

<div>Robyn watched as flames surrounded her animals. She saw them on fire. She saved what she could with her bare hands and her own body. She would have stayed. She would have died with them if her brothers had not physically come and taken her away.

<div>As the firestorm descended, Robyn and her brothers sheltered in a dam, standing in the water as they watched her entire property burn around them. Everything she had built over a lifetime was consumed in front of her eyes.
