What Sous cares about

I love connecting with others through cooking tutorials, food education videos, & food and product reviews while bringing people together through Laos food. ❤️

Hi. I’m a born foodie and am new to social media posting food related content (food eduction, cooking video tutorials, food reviews, and food product reviews, etc.). Although food is a world familiar as the air I breathe, being on social media is scary. I'm still building up courage and confidence each time I post. My background is cooking Laotian cuisine from an early age. Laos food is one of the most flavorful foods you will taste filled with wonderful herbs, aromatics, spices, and textures. I am a late bloomer. I am finally gaining the courage to want to showcase my talent to the world. For a long time, I hid behind closed doors due to fear of embarrassment of people commenting on certain smells or strong flavors when I brought food to school or when working at various job sites which added to an early pattern of training myself to stay hidden because I was not confident in who I was. Being a first generation Asian American, I always felt caught in between cultures. Too American for the Asian community and too Asian for the American community. So I quietly sat in a corner, observing lots from both sides and ate my food on the sidelines with kindness from some who would occasionally sit and eat with me because it was such good food. My current courage comes from the strength of all those immigrants (whether Asian, African, Latino, Island Nations, Middle Eastern, European, Slavic, etc.) that came with their various delicious foods contributing to more great flavors who also received side stares or up turned noses at dishes not familiar here locally. I am constantly amazed at food content creators that brave unfamiliar territory to carve their own path into the unknown even when it's scary and the odds are stacked against them. I thrive from their strength. I wish they knew how much better they make the world with such courage. I'm finally facing my fears and being the most vulnerable that I've ever been by asking for assistance to take steps towards my foodie dreams to share Laos food with the world. Donations received will help towards food ingredients, food supplies. and food related products. All donations are greatly appreciated regardless of the size of donation ($5, 10, $20). Thank you for your time. :) Sous Chef Sou https://www.tiktok.com/@souschefsou?_r=1&_t=ZP-92Cps0TsTAV https://www.instagram.com/souschefsou?igsh=dHduNTJtMHRhNW5j&utm_source=qr https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZP8yr9DDW/ https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZP8yaXjy6/
