September 2025 Our family is facing eviction from this beautiful home. We moved here this past April to begin a new journey for our family and things quickly fell apart. I work for myself as a mechanic and before moving into this house, the prospect of steady income seemed easily attainable in the area. Everything started off great, I had new clients coming in for maintenance, my wife was finishing up her certifications for medical billing and cleaning houses for income, our daughter is loving her new school and starting to make friends.. our grand idea and years of planning was finally starting to pay off. That was until Randi (my wife) was severely injured in a hit & run crash while she was out riding a motor scooter. Our savings began dwindling shortly thereafter and my business nearly grinded to a halt, all within days of each other. Randi couldn't walk for close to 3 months and could no longer go back to cleaning homes due the pain it caused from her injuries. This, among other setbacks occurred, and we were late paying rent in June, which put us behind for July & August, as well. We came home a few weeks ago to find an eviction notice on our front door and the hearing is set for this coming Thursday (9/11). {Update - we used all of our savings and got caught up but that left us with basically nothing - please keep reading for a more current description of what is going on} During these past couple of months I have been able to work hard and pay some of the bills but our rent is the main priority. We love this home and had planned to make a new life here but time is running out along with money and hope. There's no doubt we will be successful here in this home and all we need is more time. We have to work hard every single day and make sure our daughter is taken care of, make sure WE are taken care of. If we lose our home there is no place for us to go right now. We will literally be living in our car until something comes along and we have enough for another deposit (that's if anyone will rent to us after an eviction filing on record). These past two months have been extremely tough and it's now down to the wire. We need help now more than ever, please help us save our home! Randi and I have been dreaming of living here for many years and now that dream is falling apart right in front of us. My heart is broken seeing my girls going through this and I'm praying for salvation. There are many amazing people out there and I hope we can come together to change the trajectory life has put us on lately. I am truly scared as to what is going to happen if we lose this home. It's our safe place, it's full of love and priceless moments, it's the only place we have to truly be at peace. I wish you all the best things in life and if you have read this far then I appreciate you more than you'll ever know. JANUARY 17, 2026: I never imagined I would be writing something like this, but we are in an immediate crisis and running out of time. I left the above message in to show that we have been struggling pretty much for the last 6 months but we never imagined we would end up here... George wrote the above message months ago and didn’t post it because we were able to temporarily make things work. Since then, everything has fallen apart - fast and all at once. When we first moved in, the rent was high but affordable (we were renting from the owner himself) but then he had to leave the country due to being in the military and had a property management team take over and they raised the rent SIGNIFICANTLY... We either had to sign the lease or vacate in 10 days which wasn't realistic in any shape or form. When my hit and run happened, my knee was broken and I was unable to walk for almost 4 months so I couldn't continue cleaning houses for our income and it's what's lead us to being in this position - the weight of knowing this is unbearable. We were served eviction papers 10 days before Christmas, despite having paid part of November and having a payment plan in place. Every month rent isn’t paid by the 5th, they automatically file eviction and add thousands of dollars in fees. We barely had a Christmas, but thanks to our community we were at least able to stay together in our home. Then two days after Christmas, our car was repossessed with no warning—no writ to cure, nothing. We thought it had been stolen. We couldn’t come up with the $1,600 they demanded to get it back (after damaging it), and within 10 days it was sent to auction. We now have no vehicle at all. At the same time, we had lost our insurance in November, and the day before Thanksgiving Sawyer broke her ankle. The hospital bill alone was devastating. On January 12th, we went to eviction court and were told we had to pay $7,500 in two weeks, with the first payment due just three days later. We somehow managed to scrape together $1,000 and paid it yesterday—but despite that, the writ to vacate has already been sent. If we cannot come up with $2,450 immediately, we will be homeless by next Friday. There are no shelter beds available, and even if there were, Sawyer’s school is a mile away and I have no way to get her there without a vehicle. We also need time to pack our home, secure a moving truck, and find storage four hours away, and since we can't take all 3 cats with us... we have to find homes for two of them and we are heartbroken over it. Having only days to do this would be catastrophic. Our lease ends March 31st. Our plan has always been to hold on until then. Sawyer and I will move to Greenville to stay with my father, and George will go to Aiken to stay with his family. It will separate our family, but it’s the only way forward. Unfortunately, Sawyer and I cannot go to my dad’s until March. Until then, we have nowhere else to go. The property management company has agreed to stop the eviction only if the full amounts are paid: $2,450 still owed right now $3,450 due this Thursday $2,300 due February 1st Even being able to stay through the end of February would give us critical time to prepare and prevent our family from being put on the street with almost no notice. We have exhausted every other option. We’ve applied for loans and been denied. We’ve contacted every rental assistance program we could find—all are out of funds. We are selling what little we own, but raising this amount in days is impossible without help. I am terrified. Terrified of being homeless in winter. Terrified of having no vehicle. Terrified of what could happen to my 8-year-old child if we lose our home. This situation has already pushed us beyond what we can handle alone. I hate asking for help, but I am asking now because we truly have no other choice. If you are able to help in any way—financially, by sharing this, or by praying—we are beyond grateful. I promise on everything I love that I will pay this forward when we are stable again. I am an open book and can provide documentation for everything: hospital stays, eviction filings, court paperwork, Sawyer’s injury, loss of insurance, the car repossession, and proof of payments. I will also post proof of any payments made directly to the rental company. Please, if you can help, now is the time. Even sharing this could make a difference. Thank you for reading, thank you for caring, and thank you for standing with us in the hardest moment of our lives. If you pray, please pray hard for us. If you don’t, please send every good thought our way. We are holding on by a thread. ❤️ Randi, George & Sawyer
