Hi Seattle friends — We’re reaching out to ask for your help supporting Kelly O, a beloved friend, artist, photographer, and pillar of Seattle’s creative community, as she faces one of the hardest moments of her life. Last November, Kelly’s mom Christine was diagnosed with lung cancer. After a major surgery, followed by chemotherapy and radiation, things were looking hopeful. But just recently, Kelly and her family received devastating news: the cancer had metastasized and spread to Christine’s brain. It’s now a life-threatening and fast-moving illness, and Christine is fighting with everything she has. She’s currently hospitalized in Northern Michigan, and Kelly is doing everything she can to be by her side—emotionally, physically, and financially. Her brother Travis has already quit his job and relocated to help care for their mom full-time. Kelly is trying to balance staying employed in Seattle while making frequent trips to Michigan, all without becoming a financial burden to her family. We’re raising funds to help cover both travel costs and mounting medical-related expenses as Kelly supports her mom through this incredibly difficult time. These trips aren’t just about logistics—they’re about love, presence, and the kind of care that only family can give.
