My name is Kade, and I am reaching out for help as our family faces the most difficult time of our lives. Recently, we experienced a devastating house fire that destroyed everything we owned, but the true heartbreak has been watching our son Dax fight for his life. When the fire started, my two-year-old twin boys were trapped in the basement. The smoke was so thick I couldn't see my hand in front of my face, but I managed to find both boys and get them outside. Both suffered severe smoke inhalation burns inside their lungs. Nix, one of my twins, has made a full recovery, but Dax is still on life support at Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City and is unable to breathe on his own. Our family is now split between the hospital and Richfield, where Dax's siblings are staying. We are trying to manage travel, medical needs, and the overwhelming task of rebuilding our lives from scratch after losing our home. We are a family of God and faith, and we are leaning on our community and the kindness of others during this unimaginable time.
