UPDATE I don’t know how, how why, but the Universe has smiled upon little Taco Bear and the emergency vet has DRASTICALLY changed her original bill. The goal has been met. I want to thank EVERYONE for your contributions towards saving this little bug’s life. It couldn’t have happened without you all. THANK YOU!!!! My name is Jill and I am trying everything in my power to help save this full of life, spirited happy chihuahua. Taco Bear loves EVERYONE she meets, especially large dogs, and happily hums/sings while you pet her or carry her around. She has a sister who is never far from her side, born from the same litter. She unfortunately has a SEVERE case of epilepsy, and her seizures are becoming more profound, are longer and far too frequent. She has hypoglycaemia (recently found out), but have ruled out low blood sugar being the cause of her seizures. She is currently in emergency care in Nanaimo, BC, where she will be on an IV overnight and more tests run to rule things out. Imaging will also be required. Best case scenario is that Addison’s Disease is a factor, which is treatable. This visit costs $5000 with all said and done, and I just do not have the means to cover this. Her quality of life is amazing, she is SUCH a happy and curious little bug, and if she wasn’t, then I wouldn’t be doing everything I can to keep her alive. She had an abusive past owner which is likely the cause of her epilepsy (not someone I know), and I am trying to give her the best life that she deserves. She is only 5 years old and such a joy to not only me but everyone she meets, human or otherwise. Please, from bottom of my being, PLEASE help.
