<div>My best friend is an incredibly strong and dedicated single parent who has always put her children first. While raising her kids on her own, she worked tirelessly to go to school for nursing, and she was an avid COVID tester during the pandemic, helping to keep our community safe. She accomplished so much, even completing her studies in phlebotomy, all while balancing the demands of motherhood and work.

<div> Recently, however, her life has taken a difficult turn. The stress she endured over the years has led to a serious illness that now keeps her out of work for weeks at a time. Without a steady job or a car, and with only disability wages that don’t cover the basics, she and her children are struggling to make ends meet. Despite her best efforts, the bills for rent, utilities, groceries, and medical expenses keep piling up. She also needs help with transportation to her neurologist in Orchard Park, which is another challenge without reliable income or a vehicle.
