Hi My name is Daan van der Berg, and I am humbly asking for your support for a grandmother and grandson who have been carrying far more than anyone should have to carry alone. This fundraiser is for Anna de Vries, an elderly woman whose strength is far greater than her circumstances, and for her grandson, Milan de Vries, a young boy who deserves the warmth, safety, and peace of a real home. Behind every closed door, there are struggles the world does not see. Anna’s home, the very place that should protect her and her grandson, has become a daily burden instead of a refuge. Time, hardship, and limited means have left the house in urgent need of renovation. What should be a place of rest has become a place of worry. What should feel safe has become fragile. And yet, Anna keeps going. She keeps showing up with the quiet courage so many elderly people carry without complaint. She keeps loving. She keeps sacrificing. She keeps trying to create comfort out of almost nothing, because that is what love does. She has done everything she can to hold life together, not for herself alone, but for the child who depends on her. Little Milan deserves more than uncertainty. He deserves to wake up in a home that feels safe. He deserves walls that shelter him, a space where he can sleep peacefully, learn, grow, and simply be a child without fear or discomfort. And Anna deserves more than spending her later years trying to survive in a home that is slowly falling apart around her. No grandmother should have to choose between daily needs and the repairs that could make her home safe. No child should have to grow up surrounded by conditions that make life harder when home should be the one place that offers peace. This is why I am stepping forward to help.
