My husband and I have faced a series of challenges that have left us in a difficult situation. When our lease renewal came up, our landlord changed the terms to discriminate against anyone who gets paid on the 3rd of the month. This led to us being charged late fees every month, even though I have a text from the landlord stating that late fees would not be charged until the 3rd. Because of this, we lost our housing assistance, making things even harder for us. I am 55 years old and an above-the-knee amputee. I live with severe pain every day and rely on pain patches, which are costly when I need several each day. My husband is 65 and has Alzheimer's, along with serious lung and mobility issues. Despite his own challenges, he still manages to push me in my wheelchair. We now have a roof over our heads, but we are responsible for all of our other needs, including medical supplies and daily living expenses. Receiving assistance would be an answer to my prayers. With your support, we wouldn't have to worry so much about living in pain or affording the essentials. We could focus on finding a new home and living a happier, more peaceful life with the time we have together. Any help you can give would mean the world to us.
