Mina has been a cherished friend to my wife and me for over 40 years. She is the kindest woman we know, always ready to lend a hand or offer a warm smile to those around her. Recently, Mina was caught up in an Amazon scam and lost her entire life savings. At 82 years old, she now faces the heartbreaking reality of having no money to fix anything that may break or to pay deductibles after a hospital visit or a hurricane. We are doing what we can to help, but my wife is disabled and we don’t have a lot of extra money for expensive situations. He church has been helping her with groceries , but we want to help her as much as we can.

The past couple of months have been incredibly tough for me and my family. Like so many others, we’ve been struggling financially, and it’s reached a point where I had to make some impossible choices. This past Sunday, my wheelchair accessible van was repossessed because I couldn’t keep up with the payments. I can’t express how much this van means to me—it’s not just a vehicle, it’s my freedom. Without it, I’m stuck at home with no way to get around. I can’t get to my kids’ events, doctor appointments, or participate in school activities. It’s heartbreaking to feel cut off from the community and from being there for my family in the ways that matter most.

 Having my van back would change everything. It would mean I could be present for my kids every day, support them at their events, and take care of my health. It would give me back my independence and allow me to be part of the community again. This is truly my last resort to get my van out of the pound and catch up on the payments.

<div>These sweet kiddos, Aiden (16) and Marley (15) Houck, recently lost their dad, Michael Houck. On Father's day, he rolled his truck down an 80 foot cliff in Fairview Canyon. He survived the accident with eight fractured ribs and fractures to his back, neck, and shoulder. He was healing nicely and was ready to be sent home from the hospital. Unfortunately, that morning he had a heart attack. Trauma from the accident had accelerated his heart condition. Sadly, he never woke up from emergency heart surgery.

<div>Michael was a loving father, son, brother and friend. Mike’s two kids, Aiden and Marley, are devastated by the tragic and sudden loss of their father. <p>Jeff and Dawn Dee Childers are two amazing people from Spring Hill. They are both teachers and were looking forward to the start of the new school year. With 3 wonderful teen/preteen girls at home, they excel at parenting. A few days before the start of the school year, Jeff became ill with flu like symptoms. Within a couple of days, Dawn Dee showed symptoms as well as the girls. On Aug 6th, Jeff had a seizure and went unresponsive. He was rushed to the hospital after coming to and was admitted that day. He tested positive and so did Dawn Dee. On Aug 8, Jeff was moved to the ICU and intubated after suffering more complications. Aug 9, Dawn Dee was admitted with breathing complications. As of Aug 17, both Dawn Dee and Jeff are on vents fighting this horrible virus. Their girls are healing with the help of friends and family.

<p>Dawn Dee and Jeff are very stubborn and are fighting hard but they have been battling this for 18 days (as of 8-17) This need is urgent as their Covid FMLA paid time has expired or will very soon. Once they return home from the hospital, they may be out of work for some time to recover. We are asking for any help they may need for bills, groceries and other related expenses. Teacher Family Devastated by Covid

Its with a sad heart that we lost Bryan Herndon on Sunday night. Bryan was always a good friend and would always be there if you needed help. Bryan leaves behind his son Kayden and Rachel Naylor the love of his life, his parents Susan and Gerald and a long list of loved ones.  The Lord must have needed a plumber because he took him too soon. Every time it rains you can remember Bryan as he must not have tightened a water pipe good enough up in heaven. Bryans parents had enough life insurance to cover the funeral but not enough for the head stone. Bryans son Kayden is going to need financial help as he grows up without his dad. Bryan's Funeral and Kayden Trust  

I am here to tell you about my sweet friends and their daughter, Savannah Benton. Savannah is a 15 year old student at Monroe Area High School. She joined band in the 6th grade and joined marching band as an 8th grader. She is the only girl on the drum line and will be section leader of the pit next year. You can find Savannah at deer camp during hunting season with her Pa. She shot her 1st deer at age 8, her 2nd at age 10. She helps others plant food plots. She also turkey hunts in the spring, but she hasn't shot one yet. Savannah is very outdoorsy. She loves being outside, riding the four wheeler and swimming. She's also an avid player of MineCraft. Her favorite TV show is Chicago Fire. <br /> Savannah  was diagnosed on January 29, 2016 with B Cell Acute Lymphotic Leukemia. This type of leukemia typically strikes younger kids. Being a teenager, Savannah is considered high risk. She is on the most intensive treatment plan available at this time. To date she has had 7 spinal taps, 9 blood transfusions and 5 platelet transfusions. Her blood and platelet transfusions do not last long due to her age, therefore she needs them more often. Platelets only last 7 days.<br />On June 1, 2016 Savannah was admitted for the first of four inpatient chemo treatments. Each visit would be a minimum of a 72 hour hospital stay. She remains in the hospital as of June 6 due to spiking fevers, intense nausea and the high levels of chemo still in her system. This brings her number of overnight stays in the hospital up to 22 nights since being diagnosed.<br />Savannah's mom and dad both work full time and she has a younger sister at home, Maddy. Janice (her awesome mom) has been by her side every single stay in the hospital, taking time off of work. Ty (her equally awesome dad) has continued to work, however, he is the sole means of transportation to and from the hospital, doctor appointments and other day to day activities. They are blessed in that insurance covers medical expenses, but anyone with a sick child knows that expenses don't stop there...This brings us to our need for this page! Doctor's say this treatment will be on going for at least the next 2 years.  We would like to raise money to help with on going expenses. This family only has one car so some funds would go to routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotation, and especially gas to and from the hospital and appointments. Anything can change at a moments notice so they will need to maintain reliable transportation. There will also be funds used for food expenses when overnight stays are needed at the hospital. Of course thr hospital provides for patients, but the leukemia makes food taste funny to Savannah so it would be nice to be able to grab something she has a craving for whenever she has an appetite! Her mom sometimes needs to grab a to go meal or something from the vending machin for hersellf. Everything starts to add up! Janice has vacation and sick time. She also has FMLA leave, but she has already used a majority of it in the last 6 months. Anything donated would certainly be used in any way that benefits Savannah's ongoing treatment!<br />Janice has been my best friend since high school in Social Circle. Our daughters are only a year apart in age. She has always been my "go to" for advice and my shoulder to cry on. I know that no amount of money could ever take away the pain of watching her child fight this battle, but I would like to help take away the cost of meals, gas and other necessary accomodations during this time.<br />Please lift up this sweet family in prayer and please donate whatever you feel you can.
