6 months ago, someone reported our house to the health department. They came by in October of 2025 and told us the house was safe to live in for the time being, and 6 months later they came by in May of 2026 and on Thursday, May 7th. The Health department was there with cops as well, and we had to sign papers saying we were trespassing. We were told we could only come back to feed our cat or grab belongings we left behind if we were going to be moving into somewhere else. (They did not let us bring her to the motel) They said we had to immediately leave and we had to pack our stuff and they gave us a minimum amount of time to pack. They sent us to an old, dirty motel that lacked access to many of our needs like food and the town only paid for two nights there and expect us to pay for each night which would be too expensive to manage. I am trying to finish my senior year of high-school, and my mother is struggling to find work to help us pay for our needs. She (My mother) has been out of work for a long time so she could take care of my grandmother, who had passed around 2 months ago in February. They gave us resources to shelters but none of them worked. My mother has just enough saved for us to get by for maybe month or two but not enough money truly help. Shelters denied us because she had "too much assets" and many other shelters would not allow our cat and animal shelters could only tend to her for so long. We are hoping to gain support through this fundraising to hopefully have me, my mom and my 8 year-old cat, Bella to get into a stable situation and move into an apartment and get back on our feet. Money may be possible for repairs on the house which could also make the home safe for us where the Health Department could let us come back to our home. This fundraiser will hopefully help us either pitch in to repair our home so it is considered safe to live in, to help us find somewhere we can live that we can afford but most definitely will help us with more than enough time for me to finish high-school, for me and my mother to begin working and for us to figure out our living situation so it is stable.
