Established in 1951, we have faced and overcome many obstacles. One thing has remained a constant through all those years…the caring, and dedicated teaching staff, working together as a team to provide each student the highest quality early childhood education. The teaching staff have adapted their teaching methods and developed an online/hybrid program to ensure each child is engaged, learning and continue to develop socially and emotionally. Tonight in Atlanta, GA around 9:30pm, Messiah Young and Taniyah Pilgrim were wrongfully stopped and disrespected by Atlanta Police Department on their way home. An alert about a 9pm curfew enforcement was sent to Atlanta residents at approximately 9:13pm. Police stopped them, broke the window to their car, tazed them, tackled them and arrested them. Two current Morehouse and Spelman students!!!! Help us get them out of jail. They did not deserve to be treated like this. SHARE!!!

MESSIAH YOUNG AND TANIYAH PILGRIM SUPPORT

Today and the weeks to follow I’m sure will bring whirlwinds of emotions to our family to say the least. After a couple of weeks of feeling like having the flu and not being able to kick it.....came a trip to the ER this week. Our Dad, Rick Mitsui was just diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, a VERY aggressive form of blood and bone cancer. In just notifying immediate family people have reached out with questions and support. At this time we’re asking for all the prayers we can get, we thank you in advance for joining us on this journey to getting better! Although there is power in positive vibes and prayer there are a few things that they and insurance don’t cover. The out of pocket expenses can be overwhelming and we need all the help we can get there too. We have applied for every program available and awaiting approval to help with the expenses of medicine and procedures. He is being transferred to UI at Taylor Street this evening. We will be meeting with oncologists over the next week to get a plan in place for fighting this dreaded disease. <img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/34497832_1542511500378986_r.jpeg" alt="34497832_1542511500378986_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /> I met Tyler Waters when he first came to the NIPAS Emergency Services Team, a multi-jurisdictional SWAT team that serves the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago.  I was on the Entry team and in a very short period of time I knew that Tyler would be joining me on that team.  Tyler had incredible skills and a quiet confidence that set him above others.  It was soon after, Tyler did in fact join the Entry team and for years was a man that me and my teammates trusted with our lives and would have gladly given ours to him.  Unfortunately, that relationship came to what I felt was an abrupt end.  For reasons Tyler couldn’t share, he had to leave the Team.  No amount of pleading could get him divulge what had happened so that perhaps we could keep him with us.   We have been missing him ever since that date in 2016. Tyler had spent a. short time on the team (2012-2016) but left an impact.  Fast forward to early November 2018 when I read a heart wrenching Facebook posting from Tyler’s wife , Sydney.  Sydney finally revealed why Tyler had left the team. Tyler had been suffering in silence to all but his family from debilitating Post Traumatic Stress Disorder PTSD.  Tyler was an Infantry Sgt in the United States Marines (2nd Battalion 4th Marines) and fought in Ramadi and the Hadith Triangle in Iraq. As a result of Tyler’s tours in Iraq, seeing some of the fiercest fighting and seeing unspeakable horrors occurring to his fellow Marines (<a href="https://youtu.be/3K9GlH2KlZw"><a href="https://youtu.be/3K9GlH2KlZw" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://youtu.be/3K9GlH2KlZw</a></a>), Tyler was left with wounds for which he was unaware and that would eventually catastrophically alter his life.  Tyler’s wife Sydney explained that Tyler became anxious and withdrawn when leaving for SWAT call outs. Tyler would often have disabling panic attacks causing  him to become sick and vomit. Tyler would have night terrors and panic attack just anticipating rhe next call out.  Knowing full well that the triggers caused by the SWAT position was harming his family, himself and potentially putting his teammates at risk, Tyler left the team and went back to his normal duties as a Police Officer at the Mundelien Illinois Police Department.  The reasons remaining clouded as Tyler is the sole provide for their family of 5 and if Tyler’s condition were revealed there was a potential for him losing his employment  Unfortunately, the stresses and tragedies experienced  by every day police work began to take its toll as well. The same panic arose in Tyler and numerous calls and texts were made to Sydney to have her assure him he wasn’t dying and his heart wasn’t going to explode. Excuse after excuse were made to Tyler’s employer as to why he wasn’t able to work as Tyler had nervous breakdowns where he was unable to deal with the triggers  on the job.  At at one point Tyler had lost of 30 pounds and the friends and family that had become aware of the problem rallied to their assistance.  Tyler began to see numerous doctors and had innumerable appointments to help him deal with the worsening symptoms of PTSD.  All the attempted therapies failed and often made the symptoms worse.  After a call involving a death, Tyler called Sydney and truly thought he was dying. Tyler came home and it was decided that he would not fall into the paths of so many of his fellow Marines who had committed suicide and became addicted to drugs or alcohol.  Tyler would have to, despite the consequences, leave the law enforcement job he lioved.  Tyler notified his police dept of his problems and advise he would have to leave.  Tyler is currently using up the remainder of his benefit time at the Mundelein Police Dept.  As of early 2019, Tyler will be out of benefit time and his family will be without a paycheck or health insurance. The Waters family will be unable to pay for Tyler’s additional therapies not to mention the costs of a mortgage and that of supporting his wife and three young daughters.    It is here I make my plea to you to assist in any way you can to help a man and his family who have suffered in ways most of us couldn’t comprehend. A man who has spent his young life defending our Nation, a man who stood shoulder to shoulder with his team in dangerous SWAT operations, a man who defended his community all while supporting a family while in the grips of an insidious and misunderstood mental illness    Please donate what you can to assist Tyler and his family and give them hope for a future. PTSD recovery

Our family is devastated. Lily’s little brother found her hanging in the garage. There are no words of solace that can repair the pain to our hearts right now. There was no warning and no signs. We are besides ourselves in grief. Her father will not leave the garage. The “Maybe ifs...” and heart felt mia culpas are plenty. This nightmare is real. Parents are not supposed to bury their children. There won’t be any more birthdays, no more cheerful smiles, no more “Happy Hi!”, there won’t be a prom or graduation party. This pain is real. We still don’t know why this happened but the detectives suspect bullying. The next few days will be the reason for this GoFundMe. This occurred so suddenly and unexpectedly. We never imagined this would happen to us. We need your help for a simple dress and funeral. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Her smile brightened every room. She was a super smart little girl. Loved her family. Absolutely loved big bulbed green onions on the grill with butter and garlic. She chose kindness always. As many of you know Rachel, Jaxon, Emerson were in a severe car accident where they were rear-ended on Highway 14 on the way to school/work on Friday, September 7th.  Unfortunately, Emerson did not survive the crash and Rachel and Jaxon were taken to St. Mary's Hospital by Mayo One helicopters and underwent extensive surgery to save their lives.  We have set this site up in hopes to help relieve the pressure of upcoming expenses that they will face.   We have started a caringbridge site that we will use to update on Jaxon and Rachels medical conditions. <div>Bryan and his 83-year-old father spent the last decade building an incredible LEGO Star Wars collection together. Their shared passion resulted in about 780 sets and more than 1,200 minifigures, with the hope that one day, selling the collection could help pay for their grandchildren’s college. Last year, Bryan consigned the entire collection to a Mystery company so it could be sold over time. The collection was so impressive that it drew news coverage and huge crowds at the store.

<div>But in November 2024, everything changed. This Mystery company's corporate took over the store during a dispute with the franchise owner. When they seized the store, they also took control of Bryan and his father’s collection — even though it did not belong to them. According to Bryan, the company removed the identifying tags from the sets and continued selling the collection instead of returning it, claiming he could not prove ownership. Bryan and his father have tried going through authorities and legal channels, but the cost of forcing action in court could be tens of thousands of dollars, making it extremely difficult for them to fight back.
