<div>My husbands best friend had a house fire two nights ago- his daughter, sister, and her daughter live in the house along with their cat and Guinea pig.  The fire was downstairs in the laundry area and mostly everything on that floor is completely covered in soot and ruined including clothing. They are currently not able to stay at the house and the insurance company doesn’t come until later this week. These funds are to help them replace any items they have lost as well as lodging and time spent off of work.

<div>On December 12th, 2025, my boys and I watched my fiancé — the man we love — pass away in front of us in our home.

<div>He collapsed in our home, and within minutes everything became fear, panic, and heartbreak. He told me he loved me. I told him I loved him too. Those were our last words to each other.

<div>Paramedics arrived, and just two minutes later, he was gone. A large pulmonary embolism took him from us.

<div>My children witnessed something no child should ever have to see. From that moment on, their world — and mine — was shattered. Grief didn’t end when the ambulance left. It followed us into every moment afterward.

<div>Since Mike’s passing, everything we knew has unraveled. Because we were not legally married, my children and I not only lost him, but the stability of the home we lived in together. In the midst of shock and grief, we were suddenly facing the possibility of losing everything familiar at once.

<div>We were told we needed to move out of the home. Overnight, I went from a two-income household to one. I work at an elementary school — a job I love — but it does not come close to covering the financial reality of losing a partner, a home, and stability all at once.
