Last week I was diagnosed with cancer, after having surgery to remove a mass on the wall of my stomach. Doctors don't know the origin point, but I will have to start testing to find where it came from. During my young adult years I have been healthy and successful with work, always supporting my family. Now, just after turning 50, I am facing this new challenge. Three years ago, I also had brain surgery to repair a cerebral spinal fluid leak, so this is not my first time dealing with serious health issues.
This diagnosis has stopped me from working, and although I also have rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, I still managed to work enough to cover my expenses. Now, with all these hardships, I am struggling to keep up with co-pays, rent, car insurance, phone bills, and daily living costs. The uncertainty and stress are overwhelming, but I am determined to stay positive and fight through this.
Any little bit helps, and I am confident that I will beat cancer with the support of my community. I am grateful for any help you can offer as I navigate this difficult journey. Thank you and God bless.
