I’ve lived in my current rental for ten years, and while it’s been affordable, it’s become a place that feels hopeless and dark. My kids are getting older and need their own space, but the house is falling apart and the repairs needed are so extensive that it’s not worth putting in my own money—especially since it’s not my home and I pay month to month. Those who know me understand there are very traumatic memories here, and no matter how much I try to redecorate or change things, it never feels like a true home. What I want most is a fresh start for my family. A new space would mean so much to us—a place where my kids can each have their own room, and where we can finally feel safe and hopeful again. The funds raised will go toward a down payment for a house, ideally a four-bedroom home. This way, there’s a room for me, each of my kids, and a guest room for anyone who needs to escape their own difficult situation before making their own fresh start. Whether it’s a sibling, friend, or fellow mother, I want to pay it forward and offer support to others in need. I have very little family, and my friends are all facing similar or even tougher circumstances. Your support would mean the world to us.
