<div>Out of the Fire, Into the Current is a free, one-day offering for veterans, men in burnout, and anyone navigating grief, trauma, or the slow recovery from a life that’s been too loud for too long.

<div>Held by the river. Grounded in breath. Anchored in stillness.

<div>We fish not to escape, but to remember.

</div>
<div>This was born from my story — a man, a veteran, coming out of the fire. So it’s especially for men like me.

<div>But it’s not only for men.
</div>
<div>If you carry something heavy and the river speaks to you, you’re welcome.

<div>Why It Matters
</div>
<div>In every culture, fishing was more than food — it was medicine. Ritual. A return.
</div>
<div>This project revives that tradition, offering modern humans (especially veterans) a space to reconnect with something ancient, elemental, and healing.
</div>

<div>Why I’m Asking for Support
</div>
<div>Gear is expensive. Some of it needs to be tailored to the person.
</div>
<div>I want to be able to offer rods, reels, packs, boots, and even travel costs — for free.
</div>
<div>I’m not a guide. This isn’t for profit. Every cent goes toward making the experience possible for others.

<div>Life has brought many changes, and like many, I’ve faced the ongoing challenge of unstable housing and rising rent. What I long for now is a secure, grounded place to call home. A friend has generously offered me a piece of land, and my dream is to place a yurt there—a simple, sustainable space where I can live, raise my child, and reconnect with nature.

It’s about creating stability, security, and a base where I can build a meaningful life—a space that’s quiet, healing, and deeply connected to the land. It would allow me to stop worrying about where I’ll live next or how I’ll afford it. It would give me the ability to bring my child to a place that feels safe, natural, and peaceful.

Two days later, he was rushed to a Children’s Hospital in D.C. he was later diagnosed with Single Ventricular Disorder.
