Do you believe in miracles? We certainly do! We are Mando & Bonnie Santiesteban and we are asking for your support for our closest friends, Jeff & Daneen Barker. Jeff Barker is our very own Miracle Man and we are honored to do this for him and the entire Barker Family. On Saturday, January 31st, Jeff had a massive heart attack. Daneen immediately started performing CPR on Jeff until paramedics arrived. It took them 40 minutes to get a pulse back! In the ambulance to the hospital, Jeff coded another 9 times. As we gathered together in the ER, all looked grave and desperate. We did the only thing we could do and that was pray. We desperately prayed for a miracle. The doctors did not offer us much hope, but Jeff’s amazing healthcare team did all they could to save him. God heard our prayers and we praise him for Jeff’s recovery. The entire medical team said he shouldn’t be here with us today! And after nearly 2 weeks in CCU (most on a ventilator and completely sedated) Jeff came home: a walking, talking Miracle Man! We thank God for his healing and saving graces for Jeff and all of us. We are still in awe of God’s power! It truly was a miracle. At the end of his hospital stay, one of his doctors told him he looked pretty good for a guy who was dead for 40 minutes. We laugh about it now, but we know the truth. God is bigger than all of us. Sometimes he says no to prayers, as many families have experienced. We are all just so tremendously grateful for this yes. Now the reality of this ordeal begins. While Jeff & Daneen have health insurance, their portion of his medical bills will be enormous and life changing. They may be responsible for up to 40% of the cost of his nearly two week stay in the CCU. We can’t even begin to know what that amount will be. We humbly ask for your financial support to help them. Jeff has a long recovery ahead of him that will involve numerous additional doctor visits, more medication than he’s ever seen before, and many changes. Any donation you can make will help make that journey ahead less challenging. We thank you for your generosity.
