Samantha Cross

My name is Samantha, and I’m facing a long list of serious health challenges. I have major heart disease with two rare conditions, my liver is failing, and my lungs are struggling so much that I’m on oxygen 24/7. My oxygen needs change daily, and I also live with fibromyalgia and chronic pain disorder. There are many other health issues I deal with every day, and it’s become harder and harder to get around safely in my own home. My room is upstairs, and I recently fell down the stairs again. My fiancé and I have been together for 13 years, and he’s been my rock—caring for me every step of the way. We dream of buying our first home together, one that’s safer and more accessible for me, so I don’t have to worry about stairs or getting hurt. I also need help with medical expenses, especially a portable oxygen concentrator. The one I need isn’t covered by insurance, but it would make a huge difference in my life. It would let me go to doctor’s appointments and run errands without dragging around heavy oxygen tanks. At just 100 lbs, it’s a real struggle for me. I’m also trying to prepare for the future, including end-of-life costs, since I can’t get life insurance. When I pass, my fiancé will lose his job caring for me, and I want to make sure he has a little support to get back on his feet. He’s given up so much for me, and he deserves to have a safer home and a little peace of mind.
