Hey, I am Jaavon Brown, First, I would like to start off by saying, I genuinely appreciate the time that is taken out of your day to quickly read this about me and I deeply apologize if it is too long! It is a lot for me to ask for help and support from generous people who both do and do not know me, but I hope this helps! :) About me: Substitute Teacher by day in the New Haven Public School System and a Behavior Technician working with both kids and adults associated with ASD by afternoon/evening. Former Division 1 football player across multiple colleges and universities. A very caring and loving young man still learning his way, but ALWAYS keeps a smile on his face as you can see in my pictures. I love psychology (hence what my undergrad degree will be in). As I stated, I love psychology, always have. I used to want to be a psychiatrist, but I do not think that is in the cards for me. My other three careers that I am currently split between are joining law enforcement, becoming a therapist/psychologist, and something that I have been contemplating is becoming a teacher. It is a very rewarding career knowing how much good you can do to and/or for students in various aspects of their life both in school and outside of it. I can personally say that I have had great teachers from PreK all the way to my college years and that energy they have should be widely reciprocated. I am trying to raise quite a bit of money for school. Unfortunately, I am not enrolled at the moment and as I am writing this, this is actually my second straight semester not being in school. I did deal with this same exact situation last year for the spring semester of 2024. I am not proud or happy to be writing this. To be honest, I do feel quite embarrassed in doing so, but unfortunately, this is what has come after months of putting it off, thinking I would be able to gather the money for school. My fall semester of 2024 at the University of Connecticut (UConn) #HuskyPride costs me $16,826.23. If anyone knows how this works, if you do not pay for any given semester, you will have a hold on your student account which then prevents registration of classes and future enrollment until the bill is paid in full. Yes, I am working two jobs and if you count UberEats and DoorDash, that is a third, but I am also looking for a third or fourth (dependent on your view if delivering food counts as a job) at the moment trying to cut this bill down as much as possible so that I can begin the process of re-enrolling to the University. My goal is $7,500 and I hope that I can reach this goal by December 1, 2025. I truly hope that you are able to help me make this happen. When I tell you that I would be genuinely happy and appreciative beyond word explainable measures to each and every donation that helps me get closer and closer to this goal, I mean it from the bottom of my heart! :) Again, I deeply apologize for this very lengthy message.
