<div>After battling cancer for the last two years, Captain Patrick Burke passed away at home with his family Christmas Eve morning. Pat is survived by his wife of 33 years, Kim, and their four children, Thomas, Joseph, Maria Rose, and Lucy.

<div>Pat started flying at Vincennes University’s aviation program in 1986. After completing his associates degree there, he went on to complete his bachelor’s degree at Purdue University through their aviation flight program in 1990. After instructing for a couple years, Pat moved on to flying night freight out of Flint, Michigan. In 1996, he took a corporate Learjet Captain position at Comair Jet Express, which later became Delta Private Jets. In 1998, Pat got the call every pilot dreams of from United Airlines. He started on the panel of the 727 eventually becoming a check airman. He transitioned to a first officer on the 737. After 9/11, Pat took LOA from United and started as Airbus first officer with Jetblue in 2003. He upgraded to E190 captain in 2005 and became an Airbus Captain in 2019 based in MCO.

<div>Besides being a consummate professional, Pat was beloved as one of the kindest and friendliest persons to work and fly with. As I followed Pat around the industry, the most common quote I would receive when discussing Pat with fellow coworkers was “Everybody loves Pat!”

<div>I am a breast cancer survivor for 14 years and those who suffer from this are near and dear to my heart. Please let me introduce you to my friend and co-worker Erika Donoso. Erika was diagnosed with stage II breast cancer (lobular carcinoma) on April 7th of this year. Erika is a single mother with 3 beautiful children. One of her children is special needs. She has a big heart, loves hard and takes care of her loved ones. So not that she doesn’t already have a full plate now she has a new hurtle to deal with and this is BEAT this cancer. So let me explain her story.

<div>After meeting with her team of doctors she needed to take leave from work for treatments and surgeries so her last day of work was May 14th. Which was days before her first series of surgeries. On May 16th had a double mastectomy and reconstruction and was in surgery for over 10 hours. After some recovery from this monster surgery, more tests needed to be done. The doctors came back to her and let her know while she was healing nicely another challenge has been identified. Because of Erika’s high estrogen levels with this type of cancer the recommendation was that she go a step further to beat this cancer. They recommended a complete hysterectomy. This was not what she wanted to hear. This meant more surgeries, more time away from her kids, family and more time away from work. But she knew that in order to be around for her family that she was going in for a fight and made the decision to do whatever it took to be cancer free. On August 1st had a complete hysterectomy.

<div>Again, she was in a situation where she needed help between her family and friends, she was able to take on this and continue the fight. As time has gone on it has been taking a toll on her, her family and her finances as her medical bills continue to come in, with little income to pay for the essentials. While she was recuperating, she was placed on heavy anti-biotics. What occurred next was not anticipated by her doctors although she kept communicating with them, they insisted it was all part of the recovery. Erika knew something wasn’t right. She couldn't keep anything down or in and these symptoms got worse. She drove herself to the hospital, went to the ER and passed out while waiting to be seen. They rushed her into the ER and after many tests she was diagnosed with CDIFF. She was severely dehydrated and the was told by the hospital doctors if she waited another day, she would no longer be with us. This caused her to be in the ICU for 2 days and after a few more days in the hospital she was released.
</div>

<div>Her next surgery was scheduled for 9/15 they as they needed to look into the issues, she is having with her lymph nodes. Due to her severe infection, they have delayed her surgery. The surgery is now scheduled for November. Currently, she is continuing with her physical therapy for lymphedema on her left arm and recuperating from her hospital stay.
</div>

<div>With all this said, she had depleted her bank account, has no income coming in, she is using credit cards and what is left of her savings to make ends meet. This is why I am asking for some help for her. Erika is a very self sufficient productive and loving person. She has not asked for financial help because she felt that she could manage it. But with all the “unknowns” that have happened this is becoming a financial burden and because she doesn’t know when she can return to work, she needs our help. Even when she returns to work she needs help! We are looking to raise $10,000 to get her through this situation. This money will be used for her to pay the essentials, current medical bills and upcoming surgery bills. I am asking for Erika, as it’s not in her character to ask for help but she was willing to be transparent and allow me to ask for her. <div>Jeremy Larsen has been a close friend, neighbor, and mentor to so many of us. On the evening of May 20th, he was involved in a motorbike accident, while out riding with his son Wyatt and best friend John, that has left him in a coma.

<div>Jeremy is a beloved husband to Katie, father to Kylie and Wyatt, and friend to us and so many others in the Austin community. He has been a spark of light and fun in so very many lives. Jeremy is a fighter and has surpassed initial medical expectations. But he has extensive physical injuries, including a significant brain injury and is unresponsive to direct stimuli as of today, Sunday, May 28th.

<div>Jeremy has been showing some signs of improvement, but he has an incredibly long road of recovery ahead of him. His family is embarking on a marathon as he hopefully regains consciousness, and then regains his memory and independence. For the foreseeable future the Larsen’s are fully dedicated to staying by Jeremy’s side - meeting with doctors and medical staff, talking to him and helping him to regain consciousness, and praying for his full recovery.

He's always been more than happy to lend his time and heart to any in need. <div>Things have not  been going very good over here lately. Brian has been declining quickly over the last 5 weeks. He was unable make it to his spine MRI on 12/19  due to weakness and yesterday morning he took his 5th fall the last few weeks. Getting him to appts has become nearly impossible and just not safe anymore.  I sent the doctor a message and she called me back quickly.  This is what has unfolded…….

<div>Dr. Johnson and our favorite PA Susanne are in agreement that even without MRI confirmation the tumor is growing rapidly and has figured out how to grow and win against the avastin and Lynparza/loumustine  treatments. Once “the beast” figures out a way around the barriers that Brian has been on for over a year, the growth is rapid and having the BRCA gene is not helping with the extremely quick progression of things. Brian’s legs are not working……the left leg is especially affected and very very heavy. There is no muscle mass anymore so when he attempts to stand he collapses. These symptoms point to definite spine spread and if the doc had to guess she thinks it is low, probably around L2 since the legs are having such trouble working properly. Brian’s pupils are also 2 different sizes now which is indicative that the tumor is now on the base of the brain stem as well.  The doctors have assured me that they have thrown every trick in their arsenal Brian’s way and there is nothing more they can do.  They have recommended that Brian go on hospice care to ensure he is comfortable and able to spend whatever time he has left with his family.

<div>Susie and I told Brian today, along with the help of the most precious bridge nurse Lauren. There were tears…… lots and lots of tears. The unknown of how this will progress is frightening. Lauren promised us that with hospice onboard, we will be prepared for whatever is coming our way — comfort meds, 24/7 ability to get in touch with an oncall nurse and supplies delivered directly to our home. There will be no more worrying about how we will get to appointments and if we can do it safely. It was not 20 minutes after Lauren left our home , hospice had already called and Brian will be assessed and admitted to comfort care tomorrow morning between 9 am and 10 am. We are patiently awaiting a hospital bed for downstairs so we can enjoy Christmas around the tree, open presents, and celebrate his 51st birthday on 12/27. He also has an electric recliner coming—a bday present from his mom.

<div>The kids have not been directly told what is going on but, I believe, they sense something is not right. We will talk to them in due time and will not hide any information if questions are asked.  They are what Brian is most concerned about.  I have been slowly trying to prepare them over the last 14 months. I pray that we all find some sense of peace and calm whatever that looks like. 
</div>

<div>Please give Brian some time to absorb this heavy news and please give him some space and time to reply to emails and texts. We plan on celebrating this beautiful time together making memories, taking pics, snuggling, and recording videos that we will have forever.  This will be a Christmas all about Brian and whatever he wants.

<div>On the morning of Tuesday, December 13th, 2022, our dad Corey Wicklund, was working when he suddenly had a terrible fall. He regained consciousness when paramedics arrived and was air lifted to Hennepin County Medical Center.

<div>After multiple tests, it was determined that he had suffered a severe concussion, extensive spinal cord injuries, compression fractures and bleeding in his spinal cord, a neck fracture and torn ligaments in his neck.  The largest concern at the moment is that he has not been able to move his legs. At 4:00pm, he went into surgery to give him the best possible chance at recovery.

<div>Corey is the most hard-working, caring and giving person. He will never think twice when it comes to helping someone in need. He is a loving husband to Angie for 31 years, a father of 4 and grandfather of 4. 
</div>

<div>Since it is expected that he will be out of work for a significant amount of time and since he is self-employed, Corey and Angie will not have any income for that time period. In addition, they do not have medical insurance. After his surgery, Corey will likely have a long road to recovery including physical therapy which will no doubt, be an added expense.

<div>We humbly thank God for his faithfulness and protection, and that Corey is with us today. We trust that God’s plans are bigger than our own and that regardless of the circumstances, glory be to God!

<div>On Friday, June 17, the world lost one of the most kind, patient, giving and genuine humans. Casey Skudin’s life was devastatingly cut short when a tree fell on the vehicle he was driving while visiting the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina with his wife, Angela, and sons Ben (19) and CJ (10). Angela and Ben received minor injuries, while CJ sustained injuries and is still hospitalized. The family was vacationing in North Carolina to celebrate Casey’s 46th birthday and Father’s Day which fall on the same day.

Bill was a wonderful man who loved Jesus and will be dearly missed by friends and family. <br /><br />The funds will be used for cremation, space and <font color="#333333">other costs relates to holding a service as well as any left over will be gifted to his son, Dallas. <br /><br />We are very grateful for any donation you are able to make. <br /><br />Thank you. </font>

Celebration of Life for Bill Sutphen

<p>It is with a heavy heart I am writing to you today to let you know of the passing  of Carlo "Smo" Rosati.  Carlo passed away on September 1, 2021 due to an illness, and was on a ventilator.  He was only 44 years old and leaves behind a 15 year old son.

<p>Many of you will remember Carlo for his love of Nirvana, the Redskins, always ready for a debate (and he would debate you on almost anything :) )but most of all for the love and care he gave to his son Caiden and how much he adored his family.
</p>

<p>As you can imagine this loss is extremely devastating to his family.  Many of you have reached out and asked how you can help Carlo's family during this tragedy.  Please know that your kindness is much appreciated as we navigate during this struggling time.   We kindly ask if you are able to donate towards the funeral service to help give Carlo a proper burial as his family was not prepared for this tragic loss.   Any donation you make can also help Carlo's mother Patty and his son Caiden in their time of need as Carlo would never want to leave his mother and son with any sort of financial burden.

</p>

<p>I met Alex Givan  while hired at JetBlue Airways. We became fast friends and maintained that friendship for over 7 years. He was one of my greatest friends and colleagues and we did what we loved best. Laughed hysterically!  We always shared an affinity for cars and the classics especially.  
</p>

<p><span style="font-size:1.0625rem;">Alex and his family had a strong love of tennis and, well, just about anything that involved all of his girls. He always spoke about his family with the brightest smile and joy.  Just another thing that we had in common .  </span>
</p>

<p>Our families mean everything to us all.  
</p>

<p>Alex Givan passed in the early morning hours of 17 Feb 2021.  He is survived by his lovely wife Sherrill and two daughters Logan and Megan.  I know they will miss their husband and father tremendously, just as anyone who knew Alex shares these same feelings.  
</p>

<p>He was the greatest of friends and a true and loving family man!  He served our country with the utmost pride as a United States Marine.   He will be sorely missed.  
</p>

<p>We are asking for any support for his final services and all that can help his family make it through the most trying of situations and for the future of the loved ones left behind.  
</p>

<p>Any donations will be greatly appreciated and will be sure to aid the Givan Family. His wife Sherrill will be in charge of all incoming funds.
