<div>
 My name is Phil Stevens. I am an independent artist and filmmaker from Philadelphia, and I am raising $13,500 to complete my handmade apocalyptic feature film, PARADIS.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 PARADIS follows Martin, the last living man, as he carries the body of his wife Emily across an ocean filled with the dead. His journey leads him toward a living island formed from the body of a fallen angel—a mutilated being that has watched humanity suffer through every era of history and is preparing to rise against God.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 The film begins as one man’s journey through grief and gradually expands into a creation myth about human suffering, divine cruelty, and the end of the world.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 This is not a proposal for a film I hope to make someday. PARADIS is already deep into production. I have completed twelve principal-photography shoots, constructed full-scale sets inside my home, created puppets and practical creatures, built the Throne of PARADIS, filmed the Corpse Ocean and Throne Room sequences, and brought images to life that I first drew nearly ten years ago.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 The movie is being created through physical craftsmanship: reclaimed wood, handmade sets, puppetry, miniatures, practical gore, fog, theatrical lighting, and unusual in-camera effects. It is photographed in stark black and white and made largely through a solitary production process, with occasional help from my wife, Colette.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 I have pushed the film as far as I can with my own money, physical labor, merchandise sales, and the generosity of individual supporters. The remaining sequences are also the most ambitious: the living Reed Labyrinth, the abandoned Wildwood shoreline, the wrecked Hospital Ship, the awakening of the island, the invasion of Heaven, and the final transformation of Martin into the new God.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 The funds will pay directly for remaining sets and materials, practical effects, puppets and miniatures, location travel and lodging, recording media, production supplies, and the resources required to finish photography and post-production. This is not money disappearing into development or salaries. It will be visible in the sets, creatures, locations, and images placed directly before the camera.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Every contribution—whether $10, $25, $50, or more—helps construct another piece of this universe. If you cannot donate, sharing this campaign is also an enormous form of support.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 PARADIS has already gone from a decade-old dream to a physical world surrounding me. I have given everything I can to force that world into existence. I am asking for help carrying it across the final distance and completing the most ambitious work of my life.
</div>
<div>

Reggie Bannister is a world-renowned musician, actor, and Vietnam veteran whose life has touched countless people. From his early days as a founding member of the Young Americans and the Greenwood County Singers, performing on iconic shows like Ed Sullivan and Dean Martin, to his legendary role as the intrepid ice cream man in the Phantasm film franchise, Reggie has inspired generations of fans. His journey took him from the vibrant music scene to the battlefields of Vietnam, where he served bravely and returned to pursue his passion for the performing arts. Along the way, he formed lifelong bonds and brought joy to audiences around the world.
<br>
<br>
 Today, Reggie faces his toughest challenge yet. Diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia secondary to Parkinson's Disease, he is in home hospice care, requiring 24/7 support. His devoted wife, Rev. Gigi Bannister, has been by his side, balancing her hypnotherapy practice and residency while managing Reggie's complex care needs. The costs for caregivers, medical supplies, equipment, utilities, and payroll taxes are overwhelming, and not currently covered by the Veterans Administration. Gigi has even begun selling memorabilia to keep up with bills and payroll, while volunteers have stepped in to help during peak care periods.
<br>
<br>
 Your support will help Reggie and Gigi maintain essential care and dignity during this critical time. Every donation goes directly to Reggie's hospice home care, ensuring he receives the comfort and support he deserves. Any contribution, big or small, will make a meaningful difference and is deeply appreciated by their family and the Phantasm community. Please join us in honoring Reggie's legacy and supporting his journey.

<div>Hello friends,
</div>
<div>Scott Helland here, Samantha's husband and bandmate.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We have some heavy news from Frenchy and the Punk HQ. Unfortunately Samantha has been diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer and we have to cancel all US and UK shows 'till at least Autumn 2026.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Touring, shows and festivals is our lifeline and how we make a living. We have wonderful Patrons on Patreon and we do receive a bit from streaming services, however, without shows it will be very hard to pay living expenses/bills on our own. Hopefully we will be able to get reimbursement for the flights we had booked for the Europe dates, that has yet to be figured out.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This campaign is for living expenses while we go through this journey, for example, food, electric bills, gas, cable bill, car insurance, home insurance, payments on loans, etc.. At this moment we haven't gotten the specifics about insurance. We think our Affordable Care insurance will cover it but we still have to dot the I's and cross the T's. This is all overwhelming and we still have research to do. We also don't have a clear picture of how long this healing process could take.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>At some point soon, she will be starting chemo, followed by surgery, and then radiation. She is in surprisingly good spirits and is in total warrior mode. This was discovered in a routine checkup.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you are able to help out it would be greatly appreciated. Nothing is too small. We know times are tough right now so please only give if you have extra to share. The goal could change but right now this is to cover basic bills.

Help Samantha Beat Cancer and Return to the Stage

<div>Hello, my name is Lehan. I am pursuing a degree in psychology and work as a human services professional and Reiki therapist. I also volunteer at holistic health clinics, supporting wellness programs that use holistic methods.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>I also rely on my vehicle to visit my kid sister, who lives about 14 hours away from me with her adoptive family. Since her adoption, we have both faced some challenges adjusting to her new environment, and my presence helps her feel supported and connected to her roots. Being able to show up for her and maintain our relationship is crucial for both of our emotional states.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>She texted me 2 days ago saying, “I’m lucky to have you as my sister tho, and to still have a relationship with you even throughout everything with me going through foster care and getting adopted. Not many people have a good relationship with their siblings, but I’m thankful that I have a good relationship with you. I know we don’t talk or call every day, but I know you love me either way, and it’s weird growing up. I don’t like it.”

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Being able to provide consistency in visits is imperative to be her older sister.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>My dedication to supporting my sister in challenging circumstances reflects the same commitment I bring to my clients: being present, consistent, and caring, even when obstacles arise. Whether for family or the people I serve, I believe that showing up for others makes a lasting difference.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>My car's engine recently failed, and I need reliable transportation to commute to work and visit clients' homes, often up to 20 miles each way. Many of my clients rely upon my support for mental health, wellness, and holistic care, and my ability to reach them directly affects their access to vital services. While my car is out of service, I am doing my best to coordinate occasional rides, use public transit where possible, and offer virtual support sessions to clients who are able.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>However, these are only partial solutions, and some clients depend on in-person care. I have explored other options for repair assistance, but working part-time while in school full-time isn’t enough to qualify for a small personal loan.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div><strong>I intend to raise the necessary funds within the next two weeks so I can have my car repaired and resume delivering continuous care and support.</strong>

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>If I am unable to reach my fundraising goal within this timeframe, I will continue using alternative transportation and adjust my schedule as needed so that clients receive as much support as I can provide.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Repairing my vehicle will help me fulfill my professional responsibilities to those who depend on me and continue my education without interruption. I am raising funds for this essential repair and value any support to help me continue producing a positive difference for individuals in need.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div><strong>What I'm Raising Funds For:</strong>

</div>

<div>I am raising $1,800 to purchase a used engine and cover its installation costs. Based on estimates from a local mechanic, the breakdown is as follows:

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Used engine: $700

</div>

<div>Installation labor and necessary components: $1,100

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>These funds will allow me to repair my vehicle, guaranteeing dependable transportation for work and client visits. Your support will help me continue my work in human services and concentrate on my studies. If I raise more than my goal, any extra funds will be used for future vehicle maintenance and to cover unexpected transportation costs, helping me continue supporting clients without interruption and travel to see my sister. If I do not reach my goal, I will emphasize essential repairs with the funds collected to get back on the road as soon as possible.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Any contribution or sharing of this campaign is greatly appreciated. Your support truly means the world to me and those I serve. Thank you for considering this opportunity to help make a positive impact in our community.

Help Lehan Repair Her Car to Support Clients and Sister

<div>It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic news that Jaxon has passed away after a courageous 20-month battle at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. This young warrior fought valiantly every day, and while his family hoped for a miracle, he has now gained his angel wings and can finally take a rest. I created this gofundme to help my dear friend Jessica Cesana and her family be able to bring Jaxon back to NY and give him a proper funeral surrounded by family and friends.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>As anyone who has experienced loss knows, the pain of losing a child is indescribable. But what makes this even more difficult is the financial burden that comes with it. After 20 months in the hospital, Jessica and her family are now faced with the overwhelming cost of transporting Jaxon’s body back to New York for a proper funeral and burial. The cost of transportation alone is $10,000, an unimaginable expense on top of all they've already been through.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>The financial strain they’ve endured over the past 20 months has been overwhelming—countless medical bills, travel expenses, and the emotional toll of constant uncertainty. Jessica hasn’t been able to work this whole time as she needed to stay by Jaxon’s side. The last thing Jessica and her family should have to worry about right now is how to give their child a proper farewell.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>We are reaching out to you, our community, to ask for your help. No donation is too small, and every contribution will make a difference in helping Jessica and her family during this incredibly difficult time. Your generosity will go directly toward covering the costs of transporting Jaxon back home, funeral expenses, and helping relieve some of the financial burden they are facing.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Please keep Jessica, her daughter Jayla, her family, and Jaxon in your thoughts and prayers. Any support, whether through donations or sharing this page, is greatly appreciated.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for standing with Jessica and her family during this heart-wrenching time.

</div>

Funeral expenses for Jaxon

<div>This is being created for my daughter, Taylor. She is a 26 year old only child and a mom of a 2 year old little girl. She has been struggling with symptoms of severe malnutrition, loss of appetite, unable to digest, loss of muscle mass, weakness, body aches and pains for over a year and a half with no answers. After undergoing extensive medical testing the Dr's were finally were able to give her a proper diagnosis of Gastroparesis (paralyzing of the stomach). She has been in and out of work, hospitals, and doctors offices, receiving long trials of meds, meal supplements, formulas and protein shakes attempting to maintain her weight but unfortunately her body was not able to keep up. After thoroughly exhausting all options the only option left was a feeding tube, which she then had placed on December 26th 2024. She has then been out of work, struggling to maintain a living, struggling to keep up with bills and medical expenses. All while trying to still be a full time mother to her two year old. Her and her family can use all the help they can get as this is no where near close to being dealt with. It is a condition that over time can worsen; doesn't necessary get better and never goes away. There will be long roads of appointments, possibly even more surgeries, medications, ect. All of which some are covered by insurance some are not, same with medical supplies. Anything at this point would help her family, please donate if you can if not just please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time and share the word. Please and thank you!

<div>Jaxon Lockwood was born May 23, 2015 to Cheyenne &amp; Devin Lockwood.
</div>
<div>Doctors quickly discovered little Jaxon was born with a genetic disorder called Williams (Williams-Beuren) Syndrome. WBS caused him a number of setbacks medically and developmentally. For a time, the doctors underestimated his longevity; they warned his family he may never walk, talk, or even see his 3rd birthday.
</div>
<div>Instead, a vibrant, inquisitive, energetic Special Olympics athlete, Jaxon went on to become the brightest light for his family, friends, classmates, teachers, and medical teams.
</div>
<div>He was an amazing brother to five siblings, known to be the epitome of pure love, perseverance, and unwavering joy for 9.5 beautiful years.
</div>
<div>On November 3rd, 2024, Jaxon unexpectedly went into cardiac arrest, his little heart simply unable to support his body any longer.
</div>
<div>Due to recent positive progress in Jaxon's medical journey, Cheyenne &amp; Devin were unprepared for the cost of a funeral.
</div>
<div>In addition to this, the couple have been actively searching for a new home, as their current house is no longer suitable for their family.
</div>
<div>Funds raised will go immediately toward expenses for Jaxon's Celebration of Life. If there is any remaining balance thereafter, it will be used to help secure a safer, more stable place to live for Cheyenne, Devin and their 5 other children.

<div>It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we have to share the unexpected passing of Bob Gibson on Monday, October 7th, 2024.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As we come to terms with Bob's passing, his family is faced with the difficult task of arranging his final farewell. We want to give him the dignified and heartfelt send-off he deserves. With all of the emotional pain and stress that death brings, it can also bring financial burdens. We would like to raise money for Bob’s family to help with any funeral expenses.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are reaching out to our Best Buy community, along with any friends and family for support in honoring Bob's memory. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help alleviate the financial strain and allow his family to focus on grieving and remembering him fondly.

<div>John Brennan lost everything in a house fire this week. If you are a fan of Troma or The Last Drive In with Joe Bob Briggs you know John and you’ve been entertained by him. If you went to a Joe Bob Jamboree, you probably met him in person and talked with him, laughed with him and sung his songs with him.

Help John Brennan Rebuild After Fire

<div>I am starting a gofundme for my partner Matt Sutton who was struck by a vehicle on March 12th while directing traffic on a fire call. Matt sustained critical injuries and was air lifted to Westchester Medical Center. Prognosis is uncertain and most likely Matt will be out of work for an extended period of time once released from the hospital; which at this point there is no discharge date. Please be so kind to donate to this fund, as Matt is deeply woven in the community and is strong in his family responsibilities. He loves his volunteer duties and takes great pride. I love Matt to pieces and our family would appreciate your generosity at this difficult time. Thank you.

<div>Hi, my name is Jessica. I’m raising funds for my son Jaxon who is fighting so hard just to stay alive. On his 2nd birthday in August 2023, we got concerning labs back which led to his diagnosis’s. He has dyskeratosis congenita and congenital amegakaryocytic thrombocytopenia. We recently found out he has Hoyeraal–Hreidarsson syndrome, which is a more severe form of the dyskeratosis congenita. He has needed multiple surgeries. He has GI issues so has had a G tube for feeding. He is hearing impaired and non verbal. He went through intense chemotherapy leading up to a bone marrow transplant. His bone marrow transplant at Memorial Sloan Kettering seemed to be successful, but just before he was going to be released to outpatient care, he got a rash that covered his entire body. He was experiencing frequent fevers. His skin began to peel right off his little body. He got pneumonia. His oxygen levels dropped below 30%. In a matter of days his health dramatically declined. He went from a breathing tube, to a CPAP mask, to being intubated and is on a ventilator. He is currently in the pediatric intensive care unit at Cornell to have access to a more powerful ventilator, still fighting so hard for his life.

Jaxon is the sweetest happiest boy. His smile could light up a room. He has remained strong throughout everything. We have a very long road ahead of us as he continues to fight just to breathe and heal.

Any donation is so greatly appreciated. Funds raised will go towards travel expenses, maintaining a house to go home to once he is healthy and medical expenses that are not covered. I am unable to maintain a job while staying inpatient with him. Donations are allowing me to be here for my son in his greatest time of need. I am eternally grateful for this.

If you are not in a position to donate, please share and keep Jaxon in your thoughts. Any support and kind words are greatly appreciated. Thank you<br />

<div>Thank you for taking the time to read this. I’m setting up a GoFundMe here for my brother. He wasn't at all on board with doing this but our family and many of his friends convinced him that it would probably be helpful during this time, where there is a lot of uncertainty. John (Tigman) has been in the hospital for nearly 3 weeks with serious Gastrointestinal issues. It's been a struggle for him to recover from this medical issue, and there is still no timeline as to when he'll be healthy enough to be released and and also return to work. There have been many setbacks. We understand times are tough, and we're not asking everyone to empty their wallets, merely putting this out there for anyone that would like to consider making a donation, if it is in fact feasible for them. He has a long road ahead of him and we're just trying to ease the financial burden a bit. Thanks for your time everyone, and again, no pressure here. Donate if you feel you can swing it. Any and all donations appreciated. Much love ❤️

<div>Hello, my name is Sean but most of you reading this know me and have a very good rapport with me. I normally don't reach out for help, as that's just how I am and I can normally handle things on my own. Unfortunately, I'm in a tight bind as of lately due to personal issues that has made me miss several weeks of work from my main source of income job. My second job is still growing and I'm not making enough yet to comfortably handle this financial situation myself. But when it comes to my animals, I'll swallow my pride and ask for help 'cause I don't wanna fail my animals. One of my cats, Addison, who happens to be my shadow and has to be everywhere I am, has fallen ill with gastric/intestinal lymphoma and requires surgery to remove it. Due to her only being 4 years old, the doc said that in her situation, and with this procedure, the outcome is very good. Only problem is...it's more than I can afford as I've missed paychecks from my main job due to being out for the above mentioned issues. I'm normally not financially tight where I can't take care of a loved one, but sadly, that has become a reality in this situation. Between my bills, my rent, and not bringing in several paychecks that I rely on, I simply cannot afford this operation on my own. So I am asking, please consider donating so my baby can continue loving her awesome life I give her. Feeling helpless in these situations is gut-wrenching and anyone who knows me will know that I am a genuine person who always tries to do the right thing and help out as many people as I can. Rather than do this for me, please consider doing it for Addison. I can't imagine losing her so early in her life when I have so many possible years ahead. She's honestly become such an emotional support aid for me and always knows when I'm upset, and cuddles up with me to make me feel better. Without her, I'm down for the count. It's sad, but true.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The surgery alone costs $1,800 which is actually not too bad considering they can be remarkably higher, I just can't currently swing it and I don't wanna procrastinate it any longer.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The recovery: meds, food, daily accessories I can cover. I just need help with her surgery.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you all ❤️

Addison's Battle With Cancer

<div>"Mother is the name for God on the lips and hearts of all children." - The Crow
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Our mother was a poet and would probably give me a lecture about starting this off with a movie quote when I could be quoting W.H. Auden (though she wouldn't want us to speak Funeral Blues) or Christina Rossetti ("Better you should forget and smile/than remember and be sad") or maybe even some wise words she wrote. But since we lost her, she'll have to make do with this meager tribute, which can never be enough.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This past weekend, July 8th, 2023, my mother passed away due to a sudden illness. If you're here, you probably knew her (she's kind of a big deal... New York State Beat Poet Laureate 2022-2024), but in case this finds you and you don't, let me tell you... Or rather, let her tell you:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Born on the Eastern Shore of MD and raised in the Wilds of DC, I escaped at an early date to Woodstock NY, where I raised 4 children and wrote poetry for my desk drawer. Then I discovered the Harmony Woodstock Poetry readings and the rest is history! Since then, I've traveled the US, performing my work in California, Colorado, New York City, Michigan, Wisconsin and places in between. My work has appeared in Big Scream, Big Hammer, PoetryBay, Napalm Health Spa, and Heyday!, among others. With Andy Clausen, I co-curate The Invisible Empires of Beatitudepage at The Museum of American Poetics (</strong><a href="https://www.poetspath.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><strong>www.poetspath.com</strong></a><strong>). In addition, I'm the author of four chapbooks,<em> i have been a river</em>, <em>utopians &amp; madmen</em>, <em>A Thousand Years of Wanting; The Erotic Poetry of Pamela Twining</em>, and &amp; <em>Renegade Boots</em>. </strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She is survived by her lover, Andy Clausen, her four children: Alyx (Peter), Raven, Eric, and Morgan (Dean) and six grandchildren: Kane, Colden, Shawn, Pablo, Annabelle and Jasmine. We are all heartbroken at her loss.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Unfortunately, despite our grief, we have to deal with practical matters. My mother had no insurance and was on a limited income. She made no prior arrangements for her death since we all hoped she had many years left. This is why we need your help to care for her and celebrate her as she deserves.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>All money donated will go toward final expenses.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please donate what you can and share where you can. Everything helps. And please keep us, and our mother, in your hearts and minds.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you.

<div>There is nothing like a mother's love, support, and guidance. Please help us reuinite these two beautiful, little girls with their Mommy. We, the people who support Aryn and her girls, are organizing this fundraiser.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In 2020, Aryn left an abusive environment where she felt she and her girls were not safe. She moved to Pennsylvania, far from the toxicity that surrounded her, for a new start and the future she envisioned for her daughters.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Unfortunately, after dealing with a plethora of post-traumatic medical issues, the manipulation of those she left behind rendered her unable to legally fight for her girls. Because she could not afford an attorney and was unrepresented, she was forced to relinquish custody of her girls.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>For the last two years, we have been trying to help her recover from the life she had and begin a new journey. In an attempt to repay the kindness she was bestowed, she volunteered her services at a local theater and dance studio utilizing her past talents and experience.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are currently attempting to appeal the court's decision with proper representation and documentation. The girls are pleading to live with their mother full-time. Please help our cause. May God bless you.

<p><span>During the week of July 18th, the Denton family unexpectedly lost their 13-year-old daughter, Willow. It has been an incredible shock for the family, and I know members of the Last Drive-in, Mutant, and horror families may want to help.</span><br />
</p>

<p><span>Any funds raised will go directly to the Dentons to help with any costs upcoming. Willow had a younger sister who we’d also like to help with our support. Please, if you can, help support this family through an unimaginable time.</span><br />

Help for the Denton Family

Bobby is not one to ask for help...so I am here asking on his behalf.<br /><br />He is hearing impaired due to a congenital defect and this has negatively impacted both his personal and professional life.   Bobby is getting a life changing procedure called a Cochlear Implant.<br /><br />While this news is exciting and has the potential to vastly improve his life...it comes with a hefty financial cost.  We are trying to raise $20,000 to help cover medical costs, living costs during recovery, and business cost of his plumbing business while recovering.<br /><br />Bobby with out a doubt would be here for us...and now it is our turn to show up for him.

Help Bobby Benjamin - Cochlear Implants

As most of you know Keira was born with Epilepsy. She suffered from infantile spasms and at 6 months old had her first Grand Mal seizure.<br /><br />She had many tests and scans done and it was determined that during her development she didnt developed a portion of her front temporal lobe.<br /><br />Keira will be 13 years old June 22nd. She has suffered from a rare form of epilepsy that causes multiple forms of seizures and is resistant to medications that are supposed to help control them. Keira also has a VNS( Vagus Nerve Stimulator), but she still experiences multiple seizures in a week.<br /><br />On Friday night, May 29th Keira started having intense seizures around 11 pm and they continued consistantly throughout the night and the next day. <br />This led to Keira being brought to her local ER to help treat her and control the seizures. Once there, they placed her in a medically induced coma, intubated her, labeled her in critical condition, and transported her by helicopter to Albany Medical Center. She remains in this state in the PICU at this time. <br /><br />This course of treatment is imperative to Keira's health, but, as with most aspects of this rare disorder, will cause a financial strain on her family. We, her family , are reaching out to fundraise to help offset the large medical bills that come with this experience and to help fund important medical equipment that Keira will need to live following this medical crisis. Insurance, unfortunately, does not cover nearly enough when it comes to necessary equipment for Keira. <br /><br />Any amount that you can spare will help put the minds of Keira's parents and family to rest, as they need to put all of their energy into Keira's recovery. We thank you for all your thoughts, prayers, &amp; support!

J.Von Hughes-Munroe &amp; Ronny Munroe went in for blood work and tests on Monday, and will get the results today and then will move forward with whatever it is they have to do. We are all really praying that the natural remedies they have been using have made a significant difference. Bills are still mounting and they could really use the help still. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far. Per Ronny, "We couldn’t have survived through this long journey without you all. Thank you very much ~ love &amp; light!"

"Sufferings are misfortunes...as long as there is life, there is happiness. There is a great deal before us.”- War and Peace<br /><br />My sister has been fighting with health problems for most of her young adult life, only without the luxury of knowing what it is she was fighting. 5 years ago we thought it was Lyme. 2 years ago we thought it was a brain tumor on her pituitary. Last week all we knew was the lymph nodes on her head and neck were swollen, and she would be rushed into surgery to remove one on her neck. <br /><br />Today, at 9:13pm, Saturday June 24th, I sit here next to my sister on her second day of chemotherapy at Sloan Kettering. AML, Acute myeloid leukemia. I once considered knowing your enemy a luxury.<br /><br />We have the good fortune of sitting in this room, in the best hands and care this country can provide, but cancer leaves us still in need.  <br /><br />My sister is fighting hard, but those of us trying to stay strong for her are terrified of buckling under the tremendous weight. Katarina has to stay here for one month straight, before getting a short break and having to come back. She will spend just about her whole summer here, which worries the rest of us. Although we can take solace that she is comforted by visits with her friends, brothers and sisters.<br /><br />Katarina is a proud academic, having undergone the rigors of the International baccalaureate,  at Red Hook High School, and a proud student at Bard college. It was was a hard pill to swallow when she was advised she couldn’t return to Bard College for the fall semester but looks forward to returning in spring.  Katarina loves cats, biology, Russian literature, and has been pursuing a career in medicine to help those in need. As a child, she gave her hair for chemo patients. Now, she will be receiving it.  <br /><br />We are a modest family raised by a single mom, with a less than modest income.  My mother has been informed she will no longer have an income as she has been bedside for  her daughter during this time.  <br /><br />Our distant father's health insurance is the only thing making this room available to us. MSK is far for us, and there's no way we can leave a 20 year old to face this fight alone. We've been traveling in shifts leaving a family member to support her, but we worry that the financial weight is too much to bear.  We know it's a lot to ask, but we fear we have to in order to do this right. Between travel costs, loss of work hours, food, housing and the health care itself, we know deep down we can't do this alone. We are devastated, but are fighting to conquer this with all the support we can give her.   So, I humbly ask for your help. If you find yourself capable, please consider a donation that may be very little to you, but know that any amount is a tremendous help.  <br /><br />Thank you,<br /><br />Hunter Salmon<br /><br />Thank you from family and friends,<br /><br />Mladenka, Ivana, Martina, Michael, Steven, Hunter, Nicole, Sammie, Julia, Nikki,  and all family and friends  that have reached out to show support.<br /><br />It's a lot to ask, but anything helps.  Aside from chemo, an allogenic bone marrow transplant costs up to $900,000 and is not covered completely by insurance.  We do not know if she is need of one yet.  It is dependent on treatment response. We will keep updating as we follow her progress.   <br /><br />Thank you for your kindness, thoughts, and prayers. <br /><br /><br /><img class="not-resizable" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/21833216_1498581140.5851_funddescription.jpg" alt="" width="100%" /><br /><img class="not-resizable" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/21833216_1498581157.0896_funddescription.jpg" alt="" width="100%" /><img class="not-resizable" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/21833216_1498599580.361_funddescription.jpg" alt="" width="100%" /><img class="not-resizable" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/21833216_1498601436.429_funddescription.jpg" alt="" width="100%" /><img class="not-resizable" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/21833216_1498601574.2017_funddescription.jpg" alt="" width="100%" /><br /><img class="not-resizable" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/21833216_1498601760.3276_funddescription.jpg" alt="" width="100%" /><br /><br /><br /><br /><img class="not-resizable" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/21833216_1498601490.8555_funddescription.jpg" alt="" width="100%" /><br /><img class="not-resizable" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/21833216_1498602032.2216_funddescription.jpg" alt="" width="100%" /><br /><br /><img class="not-resizable" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/21833216_1498606222.6952_funddescription.jpg" alt="" width="100%" />

Katarina's Leukemia Fund

Jimmie McDermott is a 31 year old upstate New Yorker who has a video game collection that would make you weep. He is a collector of all things Marvel and D.C., and can whoop you in movie trivia. Much like his comic book hero of choice, Deadpool, Jimmie was recently diagnosed with Cancer. B-cell Lymphoma. When I called my brother to hear the news of how one of the most terrifying office visits he'd ever attended went, our call went like this:Andy: What's up?Jimmie: Nothin.Andy: Nothing? Really? Nothing is new?Jimmie: ...uhhh... I got a haircut.My brother is funny. Funnier than I am. He is the person that made me want to be funny. He is the perfect audience member, even when it's just the two of us hanging out. His laugh is not easily found, but when you hear it, you know you've earned it.Jimmie will be missing a lot of work, and has some expensive healthcare things coming up that I'm afraid he won't be able to keep up with. The stress of money should be the last thing on his mind, which is why I've started this page. My brother is very proud, and probably doesn't like the idea of me doing this. But fuck it. He can fight me after he's done kicking this lymphoma b(ullshit's) ass.Please donate, my family and I will be so grateful. More importantly, we are people who pay it forward. Let's all get through this together.

Jimmie vs. Lymphoma

My father-in-law (Richard Shields) is one of the best men that I have ever met and he is also one the kindest. There are not too many people on this earth that can compare to him and that is why I'm creating this GoFundMe. He is a loving husband, father and he has two little granddaughters that love him very much. <br />In June 2014, Big Rich was diagnosed with lung cancer. His first round of chemo was done on his wife's (Lorie) birthday (September 10th 2014) His last treatment was done on his birthday (November 18th 2014). If you know Big Rich Shields, you would know how much of a fighter he is and how much he used mind over matter to get through the chemotherapy. My father in law served 22 years in the United States Air Force protecting our country. During that time he was exposed to many carcinogenic materials and chemicals because he was a jet mechanic.<br /><br />After, completing his chemo treatment he was in remission and life was returning to as close to normal as possible for our family... until March 2017. We had found out that the lung cancer that had been in remission had spread to his brain. He was then hospitalized at Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital. Once again, they started taking daily trips to city after he was released for radiation therapy. <br />We knew this recovery would be a long one, but we also had faith in our Rich. He started improving under radiation treatment. The cancer remained in the brain and did not spread or grow. However, fibrosis of the lungs was exacerbated by his radiation treatment.<br />May 2017: Our current situation. My father in law is currently in ICU at Sloan Kettering due to the severity of his fibrosis. He is on a ventilator and has a feeding tube. His wife Lorie, is unable to stay down there every night because of his present status being on the ICU floor. These daily trips are becoming costly. (George Washington bridge tolls, gas, parking, running out of comp time from work) My mother in law is an extremely dedicated wife and has never left his side and she refuses to. This is why I am creating this fundraiser. <br /><br />I would not wish this on anyone. This man does not deserve this. He is loved by many and he is one hell of a fighter.

Getting ready for the big blizzard, she and Tom made a pot of chicken soup for supper. He sat down to read a book, stood up… and dropped dead.<br /><br />That’s not all Mary has lost. Because he was with her all the time, only Tom knew how far her ‘forgetfulness’ had advanced into full-blown dementia; even their children had been shielded. Despite his aggressive cancer treatments for the past year, Tom had been her full--time caregiver. Now the shock of his death seems to have made her dementia worse, for with Tom lying dead beside her, Mary couldn’t think of what to do. She sat with him till the next day, until the phone rang, and there was finally somebody she could tell. <br /><br /> The two of them wanted desperately to stay together in their 100-year-old farmhouse, but with illness and age they have been unable to pay all the bills or even to do the important repairs it needs. Mary can’t stay there on her own. Even during the long day before the phone rang, she forgot to eat or drink. By the time the police arrived, she was confused and seriously dehydrated.<br /><br /><div>Mary and Tom’s children, Morgan and Cambria, face a quadruple crisis. Neither of them lives in the same town as Mary. They are grieving for their dad; their mom is in far worse condition than either of them knew; the house needs to be dealt with and the bills are mounting. Mary has urgently needed new clothes and toiletries. There are unpaid taxes and utilities, and more. Even the simplest chremation for Tom has accrued a staggering $5,000 bill, due to the blizzard and transport difficulties. <br /><br />But the main priority now is to get Mary a safe place to be, the  medical attention and  assessment she needs, and the link to social services and a care plan. Getting answers takes time and a huge amount of work. She needs interim accommodation and someone to be with her while all this happens.<br /><br /><div><img class="not-resizable" src="https://2dbdd5116ffa30a49aa8-c03f075f8191fb4e60e74b907071aee8.ssl.cf1.rackcdn.com/3187143_1422960380.493_funddescription.jpg" alt="" width="100%" /><br />We are one of Mary’s sisters, one of her nieces, and a great-nephew. Most of our family lives hundreds, even thousands of miles away and we want more than anything to help Morgan and Cambria get their mom back into a safe home. We want them not to be overwhelmed by the unexpected responsibilities surrounding T om’s death. And we want them to know that it will be possible to do it. <br /><br /></div>
<div>We are already contributing, but we can barely make a dent in what's needed. This campaign will help with everything from medical bills and Tom’s funeral home expenses to ensuring that Mary has a safe place to stay and the care she needs until an assisted living placement can be put in place. <br /><br />Tom Vink-Lainas and Mary Evans worked hard, gave to others, and overcame real obstacles. They were bright, creative, and funny. Now Mary is in the worst possible situation. This is why we’re asking for help. <br /><br />Please give whatever you can, and help us to help Mary through this emergency Whatever you can contribute, we thank you! We will post updates on this page so you can see what is being achieved.<br /><br />We are so grateful! <br /><br />Nancy, Katy, Danny and the rest of the Evans family</div>
