Hi, my name is Alfie, I'm 16 from Sheffield. I am trying to raise money for my Costa Rica visit in July 2027 with camps international. 
 
Whilst there I will help build homes, schools and foundations for hospitals for the local residents of Costa Rica. I will also be helping the beautiful diverse wildlife such as sloths, toucans, monkeys and sea turtles by clearing litter and building shelters for them. I will be doing various fundraising events over the next few months to enable me to get there to carry out this work.

<div>Hi everyone my name is Lucy. I have come on holiday to Tenerife to attend the NRG festival with my friend Jay &amp; another friend. On the last day of the festival, I left alone, earlier than everyone else, because I was tired from the weekend. I woke up to a phone call off Jay at 8:30 AM saying “he was lost in the mountains, he wasn’t aware of his surroundings, he desperately needed a drink &amp; his phone was on 1%”. He had met 2 people on Sunday night and left with them to go to their apartment. Their apartment was miles away from civilisation and in a very secluded location. He left at 8am, and walked half an hour before frantically ringing me when his phone reached 1%. This was 3 days ago now, and no one has seen or heard from him since. His last location was on an off road track, which was a 10 hour walk from his hotel. The weather conditions up there are terrible for someone in shorts &amp; a t-shirt, both in the day &amp; at night. He has no water for when it’s warm through out the day, and he has no coat/suitable clothing for when it’s cold at night. It was 1 degree and extremely windy when I was out looking in the middle of the night We are all so worried and we just want him home. Please help if you can and share far and wide. My lovely cousin Riley, aged 8, has recently been diagnosed with a brain tumour and fluid around his brain. The tumour is right at the back of his head, blocking fluid from flowing. He went into hospital on the 23rd December, just before Christmas. After suffering with severe headaches, being sick and losing weight for around 6months, which was not picked up by doctors and other health care professionals. He has started steroid treatment on the 23rd December. He’s been so brave so far, he went down for his MRI earlier that day to see if the tumour has spread to his spine and other close places but they had to stop as his heart rate dropped too low. Therefore he was rushed straight to theatre to have a drain put into his brain to drain off the fluid. <img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/53592222_1609235857627715_r.jpeg" alt="53592222_1609235857627715_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /> He is due to have an operation in the near future, unfortunately Riley hasn’t been home for a normal family Christmas and won’t be home for the new year. <img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/53592222_1609235943218829_r.jpeg" alt="53592222_1609235943218829_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /> His mother Emily is also taking care of a baby whilst caring for Riley in the hospital. Please help ease the last of Samanthas life by securing a future for her partner and children……… Family History Samantha is only 41 years old. Sam has two older children Nathan (26) and Kyra (24) from when she was still a teenager and was with her previous partner for 18 years. After that relationship broke down she met Craig and in 11 years went on to have five more beautiful children, Libby 10, Lacey 9, Logan 5, Lexi 2 and new born baby Lilah just six weeks ago. Sams Health Just six weeks ago Sam felt happy and healthy after just giving birth to baby Lilah but after 2 weeks of having the baby Samantha thought she had a chest infection. After antibiotics didn’t work she was advised by the GP to go straight to a &amp; e to have further tests. Well within the space of 8 hours Sam was told she has blood clots on her lungs and was immediately started on life saving blood thinners. Following this she was given scans which detected two masses on her breast and lung. Biopsies were taken and unfortunately was given a diagnosis of lung cancer which has spread to the cavity wall in her chest. Further tests showed she has further diagnosis of cancer in the lymph nodes, blood, bones and her spine and it was terminal. She has been given a life expectancy of under 12 months which we think has probably shortened since the detection of the spine cancer. She was advised to undergo Immunotherapy once a week for six weeks to see how well her body handles it. Unfortunately, just yesterday samantha was taken into hospital to start 5 days intense radiotherapy to her spine as she can hardly walk. In just six short weeks Sams and her family’s life have been smashed to smithereens. There are many many things Sam needs to get sorted and due to financial reasons and not having a lot of time left she cannot fulfill these things. We are asking if we could raise money so that Sam can spend her final time not having to worry about how her family are going to pay this, or where they going to live etc. She has been solely paying her mortgage since she was 23 years old and just two years ago cancelled her life insurance of £85.000 because she was short of cash and never thought she'd get so poorly and leave her babies so soon! ☹ Please if anyone can help.. my whole family but especially my mum will be forever grateful ❤

R.I.P. ERIN 13/01/2014 - 30/08/2020. Fly high little angel x Chris and Nina would like to thank everyone for their kind donations to the fundraising page. It helped to get Erin access to a clinical trial in Frankfurt, but sadly this was not enough as she was massively against the odds with DIPG. The money raised will continue to support the family as they deal with their irreplaceable loss and they will also be making a number of donations to try and change this horrific situation for future families affected. Chris and Nina have selflessly donated Erin’s tumour for further research into DIPG and we hope that this will help to make further breakthroughs and improve the chances of treating such an aggressive and uncontrollable illness. The approximate £8,000 worth of ONC201 medication that was unused will be donated to another child fighting DIPG who was part of the same trial as Erin and whom’s parents Chris and Nina have been in touch with. A donation will be made to CLIC Sargent - a registered charity who have provided lots of support to the family throughout Erin’s illness and who rely on such donations to continue their fantastic work. A further donation will be made to Sheffield Children’s Hospital to put towards their improvements of the Oncology ward. Any future fundraising events will be in support of Abbie’s Army who are doing fantastic work raising awareness about DIPG and trying to effect changes in government funding in the UK to improve research and treatment options. Support in loving memory of Erin Moran

We are two completely heartbroken Parents that have been given the worst news that no parent wants to hear.  Our little boy, our first born, 3 years old has been diagnosed with a Diffuse Pontine Glioma and is currently looking at between 6 months to a Year of life. Our boy had a couple of symptoms of what could have been anything which we thought we should have checked out. Upon arrival at the GP, news went from bad to worse. Jack had a CT Scan and it revealed a large 'lesion' and an unknown mass attached to his brain stem/ in front of the Cerebellum. He then had an MRI which confirmed the news. He's since had a Biopsy and a Portacath Fitted and is currently about to begin Intense Radiation Treatment and Chemotherapy. We've been told by our Consultant the 6 Months is about average for his Cancerous Tumour, 12 months being from those who have a really positive reaction to treatment. The crazy thing is, the symptoms came about in the last 4 weeks, however, we've been told that the tumour has been growing for many months without symptoms. The tumour he has, is a known fast, aggressive killer. Its a very rare one that has no known cause and often doesn't show symptoms until its too late, as it has with us. In the space of 4 weeks, we noticed, reported, was told his prognosis and now he's been given a general time! That quick! Our Jack, our beautiful little boy has this rare tumour and there's no chance of operating and Treatment will only stall the growth of this Tumour. He is so amazing, charming, brave, independent and strong willed. He is our little boy and we never thought in a million years that we'd have him taken from us. How we feel is truly beyond words. So Why fundraising? If we have to accept this crazy, monstrous news, if we have to gulp down our insane amount of tears, anger, heartbreak, grief, then we need to make sure that this bright, intelligent young boy gets the send off that he deserves. Our little boy deserves to spend as many days as he can, enjoying what time he has left and as you can imagine, we all had so many plans. Day trips out, holidays, presents, meals out, the first time to the cinema, a dog. This goes on. We can’t believe we’re even having to think about these things, let alone plan them… The worst of all… his funeral!!! Jack will be leaving behind his loving Sister (his best friend), his Mamma and Daddy along with his many cousins, Emily, Rory, Jayce, Sophie, Olivia, Benjamin and Isaac, Mckenzie, Paris and Allie. He will be sorely missed by his grandparents, aunties and uncles, his nursery/ friends and all who know him. Jack has always been a leader, a fighter, so, so bright, funny and really loving. His biggest passions have been his Bicycle which he has ridden pretty much every day and taken everywhere since being 1. He never stops talking, joking and will play his little heart out, even when sick, as we have recently seen. He will be missed beyond words.   What will this support mean for Jack? Well he doesn’t understand what’s happening as you can imagine, with him being soo young. He knows somethings not right. The other day he croaked to his mum that He will stop wobbling if he can go home. He thought he was just nipping to hospital to see Gadabout the Great and Princess Pearl from Zog, to have a look at him. He asked us if he was going to be in hospital forever. Any financial support will hopefully take his mind off of the pain he is in and the troubles he is currently facing and which are also about to get much more intense when his treatment begins. We hope that having a dog (he wants to call Waffle) and trips out will make him happy. What does the support mean to us? A a family we’re very much like many other people, only just breaking even every month, we have nothing to give and without support we would just have to carry on with out tight budget and do whatever we can that are very low cost or free. It would literally mean the world to us if were given the chance to give our baby a life to remember in his last months. We’re in so much shock and still haven’t got our heads around the news, we still feel it’s a bad dream that we will wake up from, that the doctors must have got it wrong or somehow shown us the wrong scans. We’re horrified and are trying our best to hold it all together. We still have our 2 year old baby girl who is seeing all of this pain/ hurt and tears and deserves also to have a break from all of this. Jack is her big brother, she looks up to him, she loves his, cares for him and has no idea what is or about to happen. All of our worlds are upside down and this support would mean everything too us.   How soon? Support as you can imagine is quite urgent and all funds that are raised will go toward making Jacks life as bright as possible for the remainder or whatever time he has left starting from right now. Me and his Daddy Chris are both carriers of a faulty gene. (This was unknown to us until Charlie was 3 months old)  <img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/17867326_1489365216.1335_funddescription.jpg" alt="17867326_1489365216.1335_funddescription" />He was born on the  04/08/16 (4th of August) perfectly healthy but then he started to decline. We took him into hospital at 8 weeks old and none of us have been anywhere near home since. We have been with Charlie day in, day out &amp; watched our poor baby get weaker and weaker, he now needs a ventilator to breathe but we have never lost hope throughout all this time! After endlessly researching and speaking to Dr's all over the world we found hope in a medication that may help him and a Dr in America has accepted him in his hospital. It hasn't been tried on anyone with his gene before (he's only number 16 in the world ever reported) but it's had success with another mitochondrial depletion syndrome called TK2 which is similar - it's helping children to get their strength back and live longer! We strongly feel as his parents that Charlie should get a chance to try these medications. He literally has nothing to lose but potentially a healthier, happier life to gain.  Charlies condition is caused by a disruption in the mitochondria, the part of the cell that provides energy to his muscles, kidneys and brain. There is a new treatment available which is a nucleoside bypass therapy, which could potentially repair Charlie's mtDNA and help it synthase again by giving him the naturally occurring compounds that his body isn't able to produce. It's oral medication so nothing invasive or harmful. We are running out of precious time with our baby, he can't have this treatment in the UK so our only hope now is to get Charlie to America  - this will obviously cost us a ridiculous amount of money, money we unfortunately don't have enough of. If we don't raise enough money then we wont be able to go to America for treatment and Charlie will die! Great ormond street hospital have already taken us to court to try and gain permission to turn off our baby's ventilation which will result in Charlie's death :( They don't think it's in his best interests to go but we think it's in his best interests to have a chance to improve. <img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/17867326_1489364525.1565_funddescription.jpg" alt="17867326_1489364525.1565_funddescription" />The court date is April 3rd and it will be held in the high Court in London. We just CAN'T let our baby die when there is something that might help him! We won't give up on him because he has a rare disease. He deserves a chance and he deserves a life as much as anyone else. We understand that rare diseases don't get enough funding for research but why should that be a reason for a child to die?! He's here now and this could help our baby. If Charlie receives this treatment and it does work like the Dr in America thinks, it won't be just Charlie's life that has been saved, it will be many more children in the future, who are born with this horrible disease and it will open up other trials on other mitochondrial depletion syndrome's. We need to change things and show how determined parents can forge a path for other families encountering similar obstacles. We need to find treatments for incurable diseases. We need to give other people hope.
