Rudolph Cuevas

My name is Rudy Cuevas and I am the CEO of a Santa Clara County nonprofit called, "A System Down." What we do is advocate for those who are fighting criminal cases with evidence of innocence, corruption, or other misconduct infringing upon their constitutional rights. I was in the same shoes as those we represent today. Having beat my legal battles and returning home, a passion grew within me to return the support that was given to me via our community, resulting in this nonprofit! Not only do we assist those behind the walls, but we also assist young men and women with reintegrating back into society for a successful start, aiming at reducing the recidivism rate here in our community. Recently, we just welcomed home Mr. Hugo Chavez after a devastating 13 years of incarceration on a 105-to-life sentence. Truth being that he won the case three times and prior to a third trial, the Santa Clara Co. District Attorney’s Office dismissed the case due to lack of evidence. This is what we do! We work with attorneys and the community alike and, believe it or not, would like to build a rapport with the D.A.'s office so that we all can work together on mending/healing our streets!
