Ok fam we need help, This one is different, and it matters that you understand why. We’re partnering with Alissa Gino, a mental health provider working directly with survivors of domestic violence and families experiencing homelessness here in Hawaiʻi. These are people who are falling through the cracks, often the last to get help, and who can’t be publicly identified without putting them at further risk. Because of that vulnerability, and because of conflict of interest, Alissa can’t ethically manage funds herself. That’s why we are stepping in. We’ll be the ones receiving and distributing the funds, working directly with Alissa and other trusted community ground teams who are identifying families in need. You can check our history and our platform, 808 Viral — we’ve been working in this community for many years and have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for people who needed it. We’ll be working directly with Alissa, and we’ll do updates as regularly as we can. You can check out her Instagram below to see the kind of work she does. Link

**This fundraiser is now closed! Mahalo to everyone who donated. The family received the funds and is on the way to rebuilding their life.! My name is Daniela Stolfi, and I am the founder of 808 Viral and a direct neighbor of Michelle Baker, whose home was recently destroyed in a fire. I was present at the time of the incident and have been in close, ongoing communication with Michelle and her family. With their knowledge and permission, I have created this GoFundMe to support them during this crisis. Funds raised will be transferred to Michelle Baker and her family to assist with securing immediate housing, including a deposit on a new residence, and to help replace essential belongings and begin rebuilding their lives after this sudden loss. ** My neighbor Michelle’s life changed tonight when a catastrophic house fire destroyed her home. I came out of my home and felt heat on my face before seeing her house consumed! The flames took nearly everything she owned, leaving her with only her ashes that th firefighters saved. She has no rental insurance, so the road ahead is difficult. Her grandson managed to rescue the family dog—those are all they have left after the fire. Right now, she’s facing the challenge of finding temporary housing and replacing the essentials she lost. Every donation, no matter the size, will help her begin to rebuild and find some stability during this incredibly hard time. Your support will go directly toward helping her recover and start over. mahalo Windward Oahu fire department for the incredible work!!!
