The brewery hosts shows for a wide variety of musical acts, art markets, game nights, and more. It is a safe space where folks can go to feel loved and respected, and has some of the best beer and libations around.

Tampa's Deviant Libation Needs Your Help

<div>My childhood best friend tragically lost her husband on November 7, 2023. Josh was cherished as a father, husband, son, brother, and friend. Josh was beloved member of the Ju Jitsu and Hardcore/Metal music communities. He is survived by his wife (Ellie), daughter (Ella), and infant son (Gunnar). Josh was an irreplaceable part of their family and it is my hope that with this fund we can ease the burden for her during this terrible time. After his son was born last year, Ellie reduced her hours part-time as a NICU nurse and Josh became the primary breadwinner of the home so Ellie could be a mother to their child. The funds from this memorial will go directly to Ellie for expenses, support, and security for the family until she begins the long journey of healing from her loss. Costs for cremation has amounted to $3,500, so any amount helps. My condolences go out to the family, friends, and loved ones who were touched by Josh's light.

<div>For several years now, Born Free Pub has grown into an essential staple of the underground music scene in Tampa, hosting some of the most exciting up and coming artists in punk, hardcore and metal alongside multiple other genres of music. I can say with no uncertainty that there are multiple shows both myself and others have booked at Born Free that simply wouldn’t be logistically viable at the majority of other available venues at our city. Aside from charging a very low cost for overhead, Born Free’s owner Deen is someone who truly cares about each and every artist and patron that steps foot into his venue, and both himself and his staff has always been accommodating in a way that not only made running a show much less stressful than usual, but has made Born Free truly feel like a home away from home for both local and touring bands and the crowds that showed up to see them. Unfortunately, Deen and his staff were informed in mid October that their lease was being terminated. Which leads me to why I’m writing this, to ask the community to step up and do everything we can to help find a new location for Born Free so the legacy of one of Tampa music scene’s most important venues in decades can continue on.

The goal is to not only find a new space, but to find one that is bigger and better than the last, with more room for bigger shows, while still being a viable spot for smaller DIY shows as well. It’s my hope that the Tampa underground music community can step up and help make this transition as smooth for Deen, his staff and his family as possible. The work he’s put into Born Free and the countless shows that would simply not have happened in Tampa otherwise is something truly special, and our scene, hardcore, punk, metal, indie and otherwise will collectively suffer a massive loss if we lose his presence here. <div>Monroe had a tooth root abscess a couple weeks ago. It has ruptured since and is looking better but now the next steps for him would be having the tooth extracted. First with his heart condition he needs to get an echocardiogram to make sure he can handle the anesthesia, which you can only imagine how much it is. Then we will move onto see what they can do with his tooth. I hate asking for money but its coming to the point where I either choose to pay rent or for Monroe and its just hard. So for this christmas Monroe and I are just asking you donate please ♥️

Luis is a staple of Tampa Coffee Culture.  If you've been to a shop in Tampa, chances are Luis either pulled the shot, trained the person who did, or had a hand in roasting the beans. Coffee in Tampa wouldn't be the same without Luis.\<br /><br />When Luis isn't working at Alert or Eastlick, you can find him volunteering his time to help friends, working on hobbies such as photography or cooking, or getting fresh air riding his bike. (You know this man hasn't owned a car in years? You're welcome, environment).<br /><br />Tragically, Luis broke his clavicle in half while riding his bike recently and requires urgent surgery.  Unfortunately, paying for the ER visit, x-rays, doctors, surgery, and rehab without insurance isn't cheap. That's where we come in. <br /><br />The Tampa Community is close-knit. We take care of our own, especially when they really need us.  The medical bills  are estimates to be in the 10's of thousands. That, in addition with lost wages from not being able to work fully for 4-5 months will be a large set back. <br /><br />We're asking for donations of any amount to help offset the bills that are starting to come in. If we all offer a little, we'll be able to give Luis a lot. <br /><br />Luis has always been there for us, either with a great shot of 'spro or just a friendly smile and listening ear. It's time for us to be there for him.

Hello. My name is Joe Raguckas. I was born and raised in the Tampa Bay area.  For those of you that do not know me, I love history,  and my fondness started as child listening to my grandfathers tell me stories of their lives. When I attended Florida State University the decision to become a history major was an easy one.  I finally got a chance to use my degree when I started volunteering  at the Tampa Bay History Center. The past four years I have been a docent at the museum giving tours to schools from all over Hillsborough County. It has been a truly rewarding experience. Recently I was invited to go on a "Cultural, Person to Person" trip to Cuba through the TBHC. Needless to say I was excited. Going to Cuba has been on my bucket list for a long time and this was a chance to go on a once in a lifetime historical experience.  It is an opportunity to learn firsthand about the cultural connection between Tampa and Cuba. That is why I am writing this to you now... I am trying to raise money to pay for the cost of the trip.  Costs include the flight, lodging, meals, museum fees, and all taxes and legal paperwork.  Activities include a stay in Old Havana, a trip to a tobacco plantation, sojourns to Jose Marti's and Ernest Hemingway's Cuban homes, a visit to San Alejandro Art School (founded in 1818), and meetings with officials from the American Embassy and the Cuban Ministry of Culture.  It would be incredible to visit a place that hasn't changed in decades, and who knows, maybe I'll meet Fidel...The trip is in November but I need to have the payment by October 1st. It's not my style to ask for help but this opportunity is too much to pass up. I would be ever so grateful for your help.
