Last year, my mom and sister moved in with us, and we were evicted from our apartment after trying to help them. They left, and my family ended up in a homeless shelter for nine months. We finally got out six months ago, but things have been tough. My wife lost her job, and I am handicapped with severe asthma, two bulging discs in my spine, and nerve pain. I am medically retired and not allowed to work. Every time I try to get a job, I’m told I’m a liability. I’ve applied for social security several times and been denied. Now, we’re at risk of losing our home again if we can’t pay rent. Four months ago, our food stamps were taken away, so all our money goes to feeding our kids, making it impossible to keep up with bills. My wife is still looking for work, but hasn’t had any luck, and now my boss has let me go. It just keeps getting harder.
These funds will help us pay our rent and keep a roof over our heads. It will also help us cover basic needs like food for our kids, so we don’t have to choose between eating and paying bills. Having this support would give us a chance to get back on our feet and focus on finding stability.
If you can help, it would mean the world to us. Your support would take away so much stress and let me sleep at night, knowing my family is safe and taken care of. Thank you for anything you can give.
