“It’s time to call it in. Mommy is hemorrhaging and baby isn’t breathing right.” The midwife’s words slammed into my consciousness like a baseball bat to the forehead. I was in a daze as the ambulance doors slammed shut, the sirens wailed, and we headed for the nearest hospital with a NICU.  Up to this point, the pregnancy had seemed completely normal. The baby looked healthy on the *24 week* ultrasound, and we looked forward to welcoming our sweet little girl into the world from the comfort of our home. We had no idea that the first 4+ weeks of little Lorena Rose’s life would be spent inside a hospital. Lorena was diagnosed with a cleft palate and a recessed chin which made breathing difficult because her tongue was blocking her airway. The doctors have done an amazing job of reconstructing her jaw by cutting her jaw in half and extending it day by day. Thank God for doctors!  A lengthy hospital stay and multiple surgeries come with a price. I’ve been away from work for over a month, and my work schedule is still being disrupted during the process of Lorena’s recovery and preparation to go home.  In addition, Lorena will need outpatient visits to the hospital and speech therapy later on. She also needs another surgery to fix her cleft palate when she’s around 9 months old.  Our hospital bills are currently over $500K. It looks like a huge amount, but we know God is faithful, and that he has a plan for our little girl’s life. Thank you so much for caring, praying, and giving. It means the world to us. Help Lorena and The Ulrich Family

The line of work he did sent him into a lot of attics in homes and he thought he was developing COPD. Because of this he did not go see a Dr. right away. By August of the same year he ended up in the ER nearly unable to breath. After running a CT Scan the Dr’s immediately put a chest tube in his right side and drained 7 liters (almost 2 gallons) of fluid off his chest cavity area that evening. He was in the hospital 19 days from August 26 - Sept 13. While in the hospital, Doctors discovered a tumor on Len’s right side under his collar bone. Doctors described it as a tumor with a center core that had a hard shell around it. During the hospital stay fluid continued to drain off. Samples of the fluid were collected and sent in for testing. All tests of the fluid came back clear of any cancer. They proceeded to collect a tissue sample of the actual tumor to send in for lab testing. A surgical biopsy was done by cutting through his right side under his arm. They went up through his chest and cut through the hard shell of the tumor to get to the center of the tumor. Essentially, by allowing them to perform such an invasive operation in cutting the tumor open, this only spread the cancer cells through-out his chest cavity. The metastasized cancer is now what Len is in the battle for his life over. The biopsy came back as Sclerosing Epithelioid Fibrosarcoma. It is a very rare form of slow-growing cancer. Doctors stated that there are only 100 other documented cases of it. Len and his wife spent many days and long hours talking with doctors and going over the options. They were told the same thing by numerous doctors that chemo only had a slim chance of being beneficial. Surgery was out of the question. They have chosen alternative routes of treatments such as- Immunotherapies, rigorous diet, integrative therapies. The latest treatments are with Care Oncology out of San Diego. So far nothing has been helping to reverse this difficult disease. There is a Cancer Clinic in CA called Issel’s Immunotherapy. They are known for their success with difficult, late stage cancers. They create a vaccine out of the patients’ blood and administer it. Len and his wife are feeling desperate and feel this may be the last option in curing this cancer for Len. Because this form of treatment does not fall under the American medical system, insurance does not cover it. All alternative treatments like this must be paid up front and out of pocket. The total initial cost for the vaccine, patient care, and housing cost at this clinic is $55,000. There are some smaller ongoing expenses such as supplements and medications. We are putting this out to the public, and friends and family simply asking anyone who may want to help them reach this goal in restoring Len’s health. Included are a few pictures of Len’s initial hospital stay in 2017 and some from over the past few years. Len has lost a lot of weight, has a difficult time breathing and has to work hard to manage the pain he lives with. Cancer Treatment Assistance for Len Lambright

It was an ordinary night back in 2011. My brother thought I was dying. I woke to medics staring down at me and asking weird questions. I kept trying to shake myself out of it but couldn’t seem to get anywhere. They took me to the hospital, did CT scans and said, “We’re transferring you to another hospital because you have a spot on your brain.”  I thought I was invincible back then and had just started a business with my brother Marcus, so I thought there had to be a mistake. After a week in the ICU and a biopsy it started settling in, this is for real.  The doc said we’re just going to watch it and discouraged taking it out so I started getting some of my hope back. After 2 years of MRI’S the spot stayed exactly the same. At the end of 2017 I felt something was off in my head so I went in for another MRI. The spot had grown tremendously. I was devastated. It wasn’t just me anymore, I now had my wife Regina and 2 daughters that were depending on me, as well as 4 employees. The doctors wanted to do surgery immediately but I wanted to try alternative routes and was believing God would miraculously heal me. In the last 6 months I’ve not been able to work much, due to seizures and side effects from the medication.  The seizures make me lock up and fall over, losing consciousness. After the convulsing is over, it takes up to an hour to fully “wake up.” The next day, I feel like I’ve been hit by a freight train. Surgery is scheduled for this Friday in Philadelphia. We have a wonderful neurosurgeon, and while the surgery does have its risks, we are hopeful that removing most of the tumor will allow me to return to providing for my family and living a normal life. We are incredibly grateful to the many friends who have stepped in to help with the cost of this surgery. Patrick is the sole provider for his family, as Brittany is a stay-at-home mother who cares for both of their small children: Patrick who is 8 and Wyatt who is 1.  On Saturday morning, Patrick was hit and ran off the road by an occupied driver who was texting. The driver left the scene of the accident, and has yet to be found. The car has since been totaled, and this is the ONLY family vehicle they own.  The McGeever Family solely relies on this vehicle for work, doctor's appointments, and everyday errands.
