What they care about

I am an elder advocate because I care about the way senior citizens are treated in this country. Currently they are expendable disposable and unimportant.

Thank you for supporting. What I am doing is for all of us! We are all aging and headed for a tough end. I want to end the tragedies in getting old and moving from this life to the next. PLEASE help us gain access to events that target active senior adults who are still engaged with their future! Protect Florida Seniors is dedicated to raising awareness across Florida that there is no law prohibiting you from installing a camera in your loved one’s long term health care facility room. HOWEVER, without a law, facilities are denying requests to install a camera, which allows the business to protect itself and prohibits the family from protecting the resident. Stephanie, the organizer, knows firsthand how devastating this lack of protection can be. Her 85-year-old mother was assaulted by an employee at a rehab facility. Before her mother arrived, Stephanie pleaded with the facility to allow a camera in the room, but every request was denied, citing protection of the employee! When a facility denies your request for a camera, they are protecting the business— not the resident! Stephanie asks, "Where in a patient’s room does an employee need their own privacy? They are on the job when taking care of residents." This experience revealed how nursing homes use privacy of the employee as an excuse to avoid accountability and transparency. Families are left without protection. Donations to this campaign will be used to pay fees to be a part of Senior Expos across the state, print educational materials to pass out, and cover entrance fees for the events that connect Protect Florida Seniors with advocates and legislators. Stephanie is passionate about advocating for seniors and urges supporters to help spread awareness, demand legislative action, and protect vulnerable residents. By supporting this campaign, donors can help make Florida safer for seniors and ensure families have the right to protect their loved ones. All bills protect HIPPA, roommate consent, require written notification to the business, signs posted in obvious locations, and the camera is mounted in obvious locations! No hidden nanny cams. No surprises. Please help us stand up against nursing homes lobbyists who do not want any transparency or accountability. Every small donation matters. Please help me help you!
