Hi peveryone, I wanted to reach out and share a quick update on how things are going. I went into the hospital yesterday, and unfortunately, they found some more unsettling things with my health. Because I am not a candidate for open-heart surgery, I will have to go back in on October 20th for another procedure. It is a lot to handle right now, but I am staying focused on taking it one step at a time. On a more positive note, I’ve made real progress on getting accurate roof estimates. We are now looking at a realistic cost of around $12,000 to get the full replacement done. Thanks to your incredible generosity, I am officially halfway there—actually a little more than halfway! I am deeply grateful and humbled by that milestone. It is always incredibly hard for me to ask for help—usually, I’m the one trying to help others—but right now, I need all the support I can get. If you’re unable to donate, the best thing you can do to help me chip away at this is to share this page with your own network. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your kind donations, your support, and for keeping me in your thoughts. With deep gratitude, John
Hi everyone, I want to start by saying a massive thank you to everyone who has donated, shared, or supported me so far. Being out of work due to my disability has been incredibly challenging, and your kindness means the world to me. I am writing today to share an update about my campaign goal. When I originally set up this page, the platform suggested a starting goal of $4,000 to help get the momentum going. supposedly The GoFundMe people will increase this as the donations come in the final total with a cut off will be $15, 000 . After receiving professional estimates, a full roof replacement is going to cost between and $13,000 to $15000. I have decided to update the campaign goal reflect the actual cost of the repairs . I want to be completely open and transparent with all of you. Every dollar raised will go directly toward the materials and labor required to fix my roof. I am incredibly grateful for any help you can provide, whether it is a small donation or simply sharing this link with others. Thank you for your continued support and understanding. With gratitude, John in
I’m starting this fundraiser for myself, Captain John Marino, who many people know through American Sport Fishing Charters. I am disabled, and now I am also dealing with illness that has forced me to close my business. On top of that hardship, my roof is leaking in many spots and needs to be replaced. This has become an overwhelming situation for me to handle on my own, especially while facing the loss of my business and the daily challenges that come with my health. A leaking roof affects so much more than just the house itself. It brings constant stress, worry about more damage, and fear about keeping my home safe and secure. The funds from this fundraiser will help me replace the roof and get through this difficult period caused by illness and the closing of American Sport Fishing Charters. If you know me, my work, or my story, I’m asking for your support. Any donation, no matter the amount, would mean so much to me right now. If you’re not able to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser with others. Thank you for your kindness, support, and for helping me through this hard time.
