Comic Sans...we're an independent 5 piece queer alt band in the middle of writing our debut EP. We are also organising a fundraising gig to go alongside this go fund me! ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ

^_−☆ OUR NEW MUSIC HAS ARRIVED! Help us get it recorded <3

We are looking to release in September, and hope the power of the independent music community can help us reach our goal!☆彡

The survival of independent music is built on DIY shows, after work rehearsals, last minute gigs and borrowed kit. We believe that making music isn't just about sharing our art, but creating a place for people that don't feel seen in 'regular' spaces.╰(*´︶`*)╯♡

We've decided to fundraise because staying independent means we have to self fund everything. From merch to recording, mixing and mastering, travel, equipment, practice rooms etc... This has been a cost we have been able to manage, but we're at the point where we could do with a little help!

Your support means we will be able to continue on the journey to completing our EP. We will name everyone who has helped us reach this goal (financially or not), it takes a village! （＾Ｏ＾☆♪

If you can contribute, share, or simply spread the word, you’re part of this with us. Thank you for helping independent music stay loud and weird.✌︎('ω')✌︎

Raising funds for our debut EP

Friends of Spider-Man everywhere: your generosity is astounding! We are profoundly grateful to every single person who has chipped in to support our Minneapolis superhero, from the Twin Cities and all around the world. As we bring this fundraiser to a close, we want to offer an update for all of you.

WHO WE ARE: As the press has already figured out, “your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man” is none other than the valiant William Nicholas Love. His fiancée Keyssy Figueroa is the beneficiary of this fundraiser and another. Ash Chudgar (that’s me) is just a guy from Minneapolis who was inspired by Spider-Man’s actions and wanted to support him.

NEED IS MET! Keyssy and I started our fundraisers with very modest goals. But as people donated more and more, GoFundMe raised the funding goal automatically. As of today, we’ve disabled that feature. We ask for no further donations.

THE RISKS HE TOOK. Our Spider-Man took real risks to combat hate in Minnesota, with his family’s full support. Sadly, the sudden spotlight has made him and his family a target of racists everywhere. Your prayers for their safety are welcome.

NO LEGAL FEES. Wonderfully, Spider-Man is being represented on a pro bono basis. No funds will go toward legal fees related to Spider-Man’s actions on August 22. The police charged Spider-Man with assault, and GoFundMe’s terms specify that “funds raised on the platform cannot be used to cover legal fees for an individual who has been charged with a violent crime.”

WHERE YOUR MONEY WILL GO. Instead of paying for legal fees, your gifts will help Spider-Man pay for other needs such as medical treatment, helping secure his and his family’s safety, and funding his ongoing work to entertain, inspire, and organize local community efforts to combat hatred in all its forms.

REFUNDS AVAILABLE. If you’d like to request a full refund in light of this update, just contact GoFundMe support directly by September 10. After that, your gifts will be released to Spider-Man.

Thank you again for your solidarity, your generosity, and most of all for your joy! We in Minneapolis are are deeply grateful that you and thousands of others around the world chipped in to support “our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.”

Support Minneapolis Spider-Man

Over the past year, conflict in the Middle East has devastated lives across the region, and millions have fled their homes in search of safety. Right now, millions of people across Gaza, Lebanon and the wider region are in urgent need of food, shelter and medical care.

In Gaza, people are dying of hunger and disease, as well as injuries caused by the conflict. Food and clean water are desperately scarce. Ninety percent of the population are displaced, and more than 42,000 people have been killed. In Lebanon, more than a million people have had to leave their homes in recent weeks. Shelters are overwhelmed, and hospitals are struggling to treat the thousands of people injured. In the West Bank, vital water, sanitation and hygiene infrastructure has been damaged by ongoing violence and families have been displaced from their homes. In Israel, families of those held hostage desperately await news of their loved ones, tens of thousands of people are displaced along the borders with Gaza and Lebanon and many more are dealing with trauma caused by the conflict.

DEC member charities are responding right now in Gaza, Lebanon and the West Bank. They are providing lifesaving food, water, shelter, medicine and so much more, where the needs are greatest. DEC will continue to monitor the situation and needs in Israel and as the crisis evolves across the region

But they urgently need more funds to meet the huge levels of need in Gaza and Lebanon right now. Save lives. Donate now.
