Patrice Morgan is a devoted mom living in Montego Bay, Jamaica, whose life was turned upside down by Hurricane Mellissa. When the storm hit, it tore the entire roof off her home, leaving her and her family exposed to the elements. The hurricane didn’t just take away their shelter—it also destroyed everything inside, including her stove, refrigerator, and microwave. Now, Patrice can’t keep food cold or prepare meals for her family, and many of her windows are still missing, making them vulnerable to weather and wildlife. With the help of myself and a supportive mommination, Patrice was able to purchase some zinc sheets for a temporary roof, and I also sent her clothing and other essential items. Despite these efforts, water still leaks in, and her family’s safety and comfort are far from restored. Her dream is to rebuild her kitchen and create a safe, welcoming space for her children. As a chef myself, I know how much a kitchen means to a family—it’s the heart of the home, where meals and memories are made. With your help, we can give Patrice and her family a fresh start. The funds raised will go directly toward completing her roof, replacing her essential kitchen appliances, and making her home safe again. Please consider donating or sharing this fundraiser. Rebuild & Restore Jamaica — One Family at a Time My name is Raina Josephs, and I am the founder of The Raina’s Promise, a community-based initiative dedicated to helping families in crisis. I am organizing this fundraiser to provide immediate recovery and rebuilding support for families in Jamaica who are facing damaged homes, missing roofs, and unsafe living conditions. Many families are still struggling to recover and cannot wait on long processes or paperwork. Help is needed now. How the funds will be used All funds raised will go directly toward recovery and rebuilding efforts, including: • Roofing and home repairs • Building materials such as zinc, lumber, and cement • Labor costs for repairs • Shipping barrels with donated items • Emergency food and essential supplies • Support for displaced mothers and children Transparency & Accountability To ensure every dollar is used responsibly: • Funds will be distributed in stages, similar to construction project payments • Families will provide photo and video updates showing progress • Regular updates will be shared here so donors can see the impact of their support This fundraiser is organized personally by me, Raina Josephs, on behalf of The Raina’s Promise, while formal nonprofit paperwork is still being finalized.
